Thursday's game between the Giants and Reds has been postponed due to rain in southwest Ohio.
The game was supposed to begin at 1:10 p.m. ET but the showers wouldn't quit at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. No makeup date has been announced. Mike Leake was scheduled to pitch for the Reds and Matt Cain was supposed to take the bump for the Giants. The teams will simply push those starters back to Friday.

Mike Leake allowed just two runs over eight innings but the Reds fell to the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Chapman blew his third save of the season in the bottom of the ninth inning. Leake was great again, yielding only four hits over his eight frames. The highly underrated right-hander has a 2.61 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in 96 2/3 innings (15 starts) this season, and will try to stay hot next time out against the Rangers.

Mike Leake shut down the Pirates on Monday, allowing just one run over seven innings to outduel Francisco Liriano in the Reds' 4-1 victory.
Liriano allowed just two runs, but the Reds got some insurance off Bryan Morris in the eighth. Leake is 5-1 with a 1.15 WEA over his last seven starts. He'll probably start giving up some more homers soon, but he might last as a solid mixed-league starter.

Mike Leake allowed just one run and three hits in eight innings Wednesday in the Reds' 2-1 win over the Cubs.
Nate Schierholtz homered in the second, but Leake shut the Cubs down the rest of the day, striking out six and walking one. It's the fifth time in six starts that Leake has allowed one or no earned runs. At 2.76, he now has the lowest ERA on the Reds staff, overtaking Mat Latos.

Mike Leake yielded three runs in five innings in Friday's loss to the Cardinals.
Leake entered Friday's outing having allowed just one run over his last four starts combined. He actually held the Cardinals in check in this one until he gave up three straight RBI singles with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning. This was his shortest outing since April 27. Fortunately, he has a more favorable matchup against the Cubs next week.

Mike Leake blanked the Pirates for six innings in the Reds' 2-0 victory on Saturday.
Leake allowed seven hits to Francisco Liriano's four and struck out six fewer batters (five to 11), yet he walked away with the win tonight. He's allowed just one earned run over 27 innings in his last four starts. Mixed leaguers shouldn't expect it to last forever, but he'll be worth using for a while longer. After getting the Cardinals next week, he'll face the Cubs and the Pirates again.

Mike Leake allowed just two runs -- one earned -- in 7 1/3 innings Monday as the Reds topped the Indians.
Leake was excellent, fanning seven batters without issuing a walk. His only major blemish was an eighth-inning solo home run from Jason Giambi. Leake has rattled off three straight dominant starts and will carry an improving 3.02 ERA into his next outing against the Pirates. He's a nice streaming option in mixed leagues.

Mike Leake held the Mets scoreless over seven innings in the Reds' 4-0 victory on Tuesday.
Leake has now made two consecutive starts without allowing a run, lowering his ERA to 3.25 in the process. There was some thought his spot in the rotation might be in danger with the return of Johnny Cueto, but Tony Cingrani being demoted was a vote of confidence in favor of the 25-year-old. His next start will come in an interleague matchup with the Indians on Monday.

Mike Leake shut out the Marlins over 6 2/3 innings as the Reds won on Wednesday.
Leake scattered nine hits and a walk, but the Marlins hitters could only manage one extra-base hit -- a double by Derek Dietrich -- off the right-hander on the night. He struck out six in the outing. His next outing will come Monday against the Mets.

Mike Leake was charged with four runs in seven-plus innings Wednesday in a loss to the Braves.
If Dusty Baker had pulled Leake after seven, it would have been just two runs. Leake gave up a single to start the eighth and then caught a very bad break, as Andrelton Simmons pulled a slow grounder on a very good outside curveball and put it right in the spot the shortstop had just vacated. Leake was then pulled and both inherited runners scored as part of a five-run inning. So, Leake probably deserved better in this one. Nonetheless, he seems likely to be pulled from the rotation once Johnny Cueto returns.
