Mike Leake was charged with four runs in seven-plus innings Wednesday in a loss to the Braves. If Dusty Baker had pulled Leake after seven, it would have been just two runs. Leake gave up a single to start the eighth and then caught a very bad break, as Andrelton Simmons pulled a slow grounder on a very good outside curveball and put it right in the spot the shortstop had just vacated. Leake was then pulled and both inherited runners scored as part of a five-run inning. So, Leake probably deserved better in this one. Nonetheless, he seems likely to be pulled from the rotation once Johnny Cueto returns.
