DeGrom (shoulder) threw all of his pitches in Tuesday's session, and could be ready to go by Saturday or Sunday, Newsday's Marc Carig reports.
All of deGrom's progression since landing on the 15-day DL has been positive, and he's been dropped in a surprising number of leagues, so now is the time to scoop him up in anticipation of a return to the Mets' rotation this weekend.

DeGrom (shoulder) threw a successful 20-pitch bullpen session Sunday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
DeGrom threw only fastballs in this session, but is expected to add breaking pitches in another session that will occur mid-week. The right-hander said that his progress is "very encouraging," and if all goes well, he should return to the rotation this weekend. At the moment, the mostly likely day for his next start would be Saturday against the Dodgers.

DeGrom (shoulder) is set to throw a Sunday bullpen session, and could return to the mound for the Mets next weekend against the Dodgers, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
DeGrom threw off flat ground Saturday, and will continue to progress quickly with his rehab program. The Mets head to Los Angeles Friday to begin a three-game series with the Dodgers, and this seems to be DeGrom's tentative target return date.

DeGrom (shoulder) could throw off a mound as soon as Sunday, Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com reports.
DeGrom threw off flat ground Saturday for the first time since landing on the DL, but Rubin seems to think the Mets will be aggressive in advancing him through his throwing program. If the right-hander is cleared to throw a bullpen session Sunday, it would bode well for his chances of returning when first eligible or shortly thereafter.

DeGrom (shoulder) will resume throwing Saturday, Matt Ehalt of the Bergen Record reports.
With deGrom's shoulder shown to be structurally sound in an MRI, the Mets will allow the right-hander to resume a throwing program just five days after he hit the DL. The team figures to take a cautious approach with deGrom, and it's a long shot to think he could be ready to return next Friday when first eligible, but it looks like he'll be available for at least the final month of the season.

DeGrom is still unsure when he'll resume throwing but suggested he could be cleared to do so as soon as Friday, Newsday's Marc Carig reports.
While playing catch in the days following his Aug. 7 outing, deGrom experienced shoulder soreness and the team quickly ordered an MRI to gauge the extent of the issue. The exam cleared deGrom of any structural damage but did show tendinitis in his rotator cuff, leading to his placement on the 15-day DL. Even if he does resume throwing Friday, it may be a long shot to think deGrom could return Aug. 22 when first eligible, but it sounds like deGrom at least has a chance to make it back before September.

DeGrom (shoulder) does not have a timetable to resume throwing, but reportedly felt better Tuesday after a few days of rest, according to Marc Carig of Newsday.
Most likely, he won't return until the Mets have the luxury of utilizing expanded rosters in September, and that is hardly a guarantee at this point since he's in the early stages of his recovery from rotator cuff tendinitis.

DeGrom was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday after an MRI showed rotator cuff tendinitis in his pitching shoulder, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.
The news is probably the best that could have been hoped for by the Mets and deGrom, as it means that his shoulder is structurally sound. He will need to rest, but deGrom could be back shortly after the 15 days are up, but more likely, he comes back when the rosters expand in September,

DeGrom was scratched from his Tuesday start due to shoulder soreness and will return to New York to be examined Monday, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.
Mets' assistant GM John Ricco broke the news Sunday morning on deGrom, who said he felt the discomfort after his outing Thursday. It's too early to speculate as to how long deGrom will be out, but the words "shoulder soreness" for a pitcher are never a good thing, though deGrom doesn't believe it's anything serious. If deGrom misses just the one outing, Carlos Torres will fill in. If it's multiple starts, Noah Syndergaard or Rafael Montero could get the call to fill in.

DeGrom allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk through six innings Thursday against the Nationals. He struck out four and didn't receive a decision in the eventual extra-inning loss.
Two-thirds of the damage against DeGrom came on a two-run homer off the bat of Ian Desmond -- the first home run in more than two months allowed by the 26-year-old rookie. The last homer he'd given up was a two-run jack by Cubs pitcher Travis Wood back on June 5, and he's allowed just six homers in 16 starts for the Mets this year. He's still won five straight decisions, and will look to make it six on Tuesday in a rematch with Washington.
