DeGrom (8-6) wasn't at his sharpest Thursday afternoon, as he lasted just 5.1 innings against the Cubs, giving up four runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out just two. Considering deGrom entered this game averaging barely short of a strikeout per inning, it was quite the atypical performance for the second-year hurler. The Cubs have been one of the few team to give him trouble this year, as deGrom gave up four runs in five innings against them back on May 11. In between those two games, he lasted at least six innings while allowing two or fewer earned runs in eight consecutive outings. He's a great bet to bounce right back to his typically elite level his next time out, Wednesday against the Giants in San Francisco.

DeGrom (8-5) tossed eight dominating innings Thursday in a 2-0 win over Milwaukee, giving up just four hits while striking out seven. The Mets came in with a seven-game losing streak, and deGrom played the role of stopper, evening the team's record at .500. Outside of his two bad starts at Yankee Stadium and Wrigley Field early in the year, deGrom has been nearly untouchable -- he's given up two or fewer earned runs in 11 of his 14 starts. He's been going deep into games, too -- the second-year hurler has pitched at least seven innings in seven straight outings. He'll look to make it eight in a rematch with the Cubs on Wednesday.

deGrom was a hard-luck loser Friday night, allowing two runs on four hits, walking one and striking out three over 7.1 innings of a 2-1 loss to the Braves. deGrom (7-5, 2.34 ERA) was dominant over seven shutout innings, but after allowing a double and an infield single he departed with one out in the eighth. Sean Gilmartin then gave up a two-run double to Jace Peterson, and turned deGrom's sparkling outing into a 2-1 loss. deGrom is a huge part of the Mets' rotation that has propelled them to the top of the NL East, but bridging the innings from the starter to closer Jeurys Familia has been a problem area all season and could continue to cost their rotation arms valuable wins.

DeGrom took a tough no-decision Saturday, allowing just one run on five hits and a walk over seven innings and striking out nine. A Freddie Freeman solo shot in the first inning was the only blemish on his line, but the Mets' bullpen sabotaged deGrom's chance at a win. He continues to demonstrate that 2014 was no fluke, reeling off six straight quality starts and boasting a 2.33 ERA and stellar 90:17 K:BB ratio in 85 innings. His next turn will come on Friday in a road rematch with Atlanta.

deGrom earned his seventh win of the season Sunday against the Diamondbacks, allowing three runs (two earned) with 10 strikeouts in seven innings of work. The 26-year-old ran into a bit of trouble in the first, when Arizona scored a pair of runs following a Mets error, but he was able to bounce back and limit the damage the rest of the way. deGrom has now thrown five straight quality starts, winning four games during that stretch, and will next pitch Saturday against the Braves.

DeGrom (6-4) struck out eight while giving up just two hits over eight scoreless frames Monday in a 7-0 rout of the Padres. He had it going in this one, opening with five perfect innings before giving up a clean single to Clint Barmes leading off the sixth. DeGrom has really turned on the heat over his last four starts, giving up just three total runs while striking out 34 batters and walking just one in 29.1 innings. The Diamondbacks will try to solve him Sunday in Arizona as the Mets continue their West Coast swing.

DeGrom struck out nine over 7.1 innings and allowed two runs on six hits with no walks in Tuesday's win against Philadelphia. DeGrom cruised through his first seven innings, retiring 11 batters in a row at one point. With his pitch count at 105, he was pulled after allowing back-to-back singles with one out in the top of the eighth. After dealing with hip and shoulder soreness in recent weeks, deGrom has given up only three runs in his last 21.1 innings. He's scheduled to face San Diego at home on Monday.

DeGrom (5-4) was nearly perfect over eight innings Thursday against the Cardinals, giving up only a first-inning single while striking out 11. Matt Carpenter singled with one out in the first, and then deGrom retired the next 23 batters he faced in order. This is the kind of spectacular outing we came to expect from deGrom after last season's breakout, but it was his first double-digit-strikeout effort so far this year. We suspect it won't be his last. DeGrom has reportedly been dealing with hip and shoulder soreness, which manager Terry Collins said after the game was the reason he didn't come out for the ninth, but it doesn't seem that those ailments are particularly serious, considering he was allowed to throw 104 pitches Thursday.

DeGrom picked up an easy win Saturday, going six innings and striking out six while allowing one run in the 14-1 win over the Brewers. DeGrom was staked 10 runs in the fourth inning and from there it was smooth sailing for the sophomore starter. He allowed just five hits in the game and improved his record to 4-4. DeGrom's next start comes Thursday when the Mets host the Cardinals.

deGrom gave up two home runs Monday to the Cubs and only lasted five innings, earning his fourth loss of the year and giving up four earned runs. deGrom was coming off his best start of the season May 6 against the Orioles when he only gave up one run in seven innings. Monday's outing bumped his ERA up to 3.46 and was the second start this season when he allowed multiple home runs. His next start is scheduled to be Saturday against the Brewers.
