DeGrom's next start will come Monday against the Cubs, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports. Bartolo Colon and deGrom will move up to Sunday and Monday, respectively, with Dillon Gee (groin) landing on the 15-day DL. DeGrom struck out a season-high nine batters while holding Baltimore to one run on six hits over seven innings Wednesday.

DeGrom evened his record at 3-3 with seven strong innings Wednesday against Baltimore, striking out nine while allowing just a run on six hits and a walk. We knew deGrom was better than the guy who had allowed 11 runs in 10.1 innings over his last two starts, and he proved it with an impressive bounce-back performance. His strikeout rate had been lagging in the early going, so it's good to see deGrom miss plenty of bats in this one, albeit against a strikeout-prone Orioles team. He'll look to keep it going against the Cubs next week.

DeGrom (2-3) allowed five runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks Thursday against Washington. He struck out four in the loss. Well, deGrom started the year with three sparkling outings, looking like he was poised to build on his rookie campaign, but he's taken two big steps back over his last two starts, both times failing to complete six innings and allowing a total of 11 runs (nine earned) in that span. However, the 26-year-old is a good bet to get things together moving forward; if his fantasy owners are panicking prematurely, it could be a good time to swoop in with a trade offer.

deGrom allowed six runs on eight hits, walking two and striking out two over five innings of a 6-1 loss to the Yankees Friday night. In an uncharacteristic rough outing, deGrom was touched up for three home runs - two of them by Mark Teixeira - and saw his record drop to 2-2 on the young season despite a solid 2.96 ERA. He hasn't flashed the dominance he brought last season, but has generally avoided serious damage, and will look to settle in as the year progresses.

DeGrom allowed no runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out three over 6.1 innings to get his first win of the year in the Mets' 2-0 win over the Phillies on Monday. DeGrom wasn't dominant but was good enough to beat a light-hitting Philly team. He left the game with two-on and one out in the sixth and was bailed out when Carlos Torres stranded both runners.

DeGrom pitched well in his first start of the year Wednesday against Washington, giving up just two runs over six innings, but was stuck with a 2-1 loss. He allowed six hits and two walks while fanning six. A first-inning two-run homer ended up being the only runs the Nats scored on the day, but the Mets weren't able to provide much offensive support. Nonetheless, deGrom looked good out there, and he projects to be one of the finer starting options in fantasy in his sophomore campaign.

DeGrom won't exceed 100 pitches early in the season, ESPN New York reports. The Mets are treating deGrom and Matt Harvey with caution to begin the year. DeGrom is because he is still young while Harvey is returning from Tommy John surgery. Look for the team to ease off on the reins a month or so into the year.

DeGrom allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out four in seven innings Saturday. Degrom needed just 81 pitches to go seven. He has shown no signs of slippage this spring after a Rookie of the Year campaign last year, going 3-0 with a 2.45 ERA and 21:4 K:BB ratio in 22 innings. DeGrom will start the second game of the regular season against the Nationals on AprIL 8.

DeGrom will make his first start of season the second game of the season, April 8 against the Nationals, ESPN New York reports. Bartolo Colon will start Opening Day followed by deGrom and then Matt Harvey. Due to this rotation configuration, deGrom will get the home opener against the Phillies.

DeGrom allowed just a lead off single while throwing five shutout innings Tuesday against the Marlins. DeGrom retired the next 14 hitters, striking out six, in his dominant effort. There is some thought that deGrom may get the Opening Day nod, but that has yet to be determined. Regardless, he will be heavily counted on by the Mets, especially in light of the season-ending injury to Zack Wheeler (torn UCL).
