Mike Minor turned in a strong outing in Saturday's victory over the Giants, allowing just three runs on four hits over his 6 2/3 innings.
He struck out five and walked one. Brandon Belt got the Giants on the board with an RBI groundout in the fifth inning and Gregor Blanco added a two-run double in the seventh. Minor has started to turn his season around in recent weeks, posting four consecutive quality starts and a 2.97 ERA over 30 1/3 innings in August. He'll look to continue that roll when he takes on the Phillies at home on Friday.

Mike Minor took a hard-luck loss in Sunday's 5-0 setback against the Dodgers, allowing just one run on five hits in seven innings of work.
Minor fanned two and issued zero free passes in falling to 6-10. Nevertheless, the quality start was his seventh in eight outings after his season was teetering on the verge of "lost" entering July. He's now the owner of a 4.74 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 109/46 K/BB ratio though 136 2/3 innings. He'll get the Giants in San Francisco on Friday.

Mike Minor allowed three runs over seven innings in Tuesday night's loss to the Phillies.
Minor fanned five and walked two. All three runs he allowed came across in the first inning, when Domonic Brown smashed an RBI double and rode home on a two-run homer from Ryan Howard. Minor settled in nicely after that, blanking the Phillies for the next six frames and keeping his team in the ballgame. He'll head into Monday's home start against the Padres with a 6-8 record, 4.95 ERA and 104/46 K/BB ratio. In six starts since the beginning of July, he's posted a 2.13 ERA and 32/8 K/BB ratio over 38 innings.

Mike Minor pitched very well in a rain-shortened start against the Marlins on Thursday, allowing just two hits and two walks over 3 2/3 scoreless innings, striking out one.
Minor was cruising along after being staked to an early 6-0 lead, but a lengthy rain delay washed away any chance of picking up his seventh victory. He's looked like a completely different pitcher since the beginning of July, posting a 2-1 record, 1.74 ERA and 27/6 K/BB ratio over five starts, spanning 31 innings. As long as he continues pitching like this, he's a must start in all mixed leagues. He'll get the ball next when the Braves take on the Phillies in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Jason Heyward went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a stolen base on Saturday, leading the Braves to a 2-1 victory over the visiting Phillies.
Heyward's RBI infield single off Joe Blanton in the third inning increased the Braves lead to 2-0 and would eventually stand as the winning run in the game. Heyward continues to enjoy a nice bounce-back effort this season, hitting .270 with 15 homers, 49 RBI and 15 steals.

Mike Minor pitched well in a losing effort Monday, holding the Marlins to two runs on six hits while striking out four over seven innings.
He didn't walk a batter for the first time since mid-May. Though it's come against struggling offenses, Minor has pitched very well each of his last three times out, allowing a total of five earned runs. He'll try to keep it going this weekend against the Phillies.

Mike Minor struggled against the Nationals on Saturday, surrendering four runs on five hits in five innings.
Command was a large issue again for Minor in this one, as he issued five free passes while striking out only two. The Nats pushed across single runs in the first and second innings, then added another two before Minor was removed without recording an out in the sixth. He's now 4-6 on the season and his 6.20 ERA hardly inspires confidence. Minor will look for better results when he takes on the Cubs at home on Thursday.

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said Randall Delgado and Mike Minor will keep their spots in the rotation.
Both Minor and Delgado were rocked by the Red Sox in their last starts, and they've been awfully inconsistent this season. Gonzalez will roll with them for a while longer, though, rather than turn to Kris Medlen or Julio Teheran. "The last thing you want is to create panic," Gonzalez said. "It's not like you're running [Jim] Palmer, [Mike] Cuellar and [Pat] Dobson out there. You're going to go through some growing pains. You've got to stay patient with these young pitchers and keep going."

Mike Minor got lit up at Fenway Park Sunday, allowing seven runs (four earned) on six hits, three walks and three home runs in 4 2/3 innings of Atlanta's 9-4 loss.
Minor allowed a combined five runs on a pair of home runs to Cody Ross. Tied for his shortest outing of the season, Minor's latest rough start leaves him with a 6.14 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 70/33 K/BB ratio through 80 2/3 frames. His rotation spot is likely on thin ice.
