Mike Minor started out strong Monday, but the Yankees eventually got to him, tagging him for four runs on four hits and three walks over 5 2/3 innings.
Minor struck out seven and had a no-hitter going into the fifth inning, but Alex Rodriguez broke that up with a leadoff single and the Yanks wound up plating three in the inning. The left-hander had put together two straight nice outings, but he took another step back tonight. Minor will bring a 6.04 ERA and 1.41 WHIP into a tough matchup in Boston this weekend.

Mike Minor had his second consecutive strong start since returning to the Braves rotation on Tuesday, allowing only one run on four hits over 7 1/3 innings to the Yankees.
He left with a 4-0 lead, which the bullpen promptly squandered. Since his rotation turn was skipped at the beginning of the month, Minor has surrendered just two runs over 12 1/3 innings in two outings. His ERA has dropped nearly a run -- from 6.98 to 6.01 -- because of the impressive appearances. Although he's probably bought himself a bit of job-security leash, Minor's mini-resurgence has been somewhat deceiving. In those 12 1/3 frames, he had a poor 8/6 K/BB rate and required 203 pitches to notch 37 outs. He simply can't be trusted in mixed leagues.

Mike Minor returned to the Braves rotation on Thursday after being skipped last week, and promptly stifled the Marlins, allowing only one run on four hits over five innings.
Minor did struggle with his command in the game, leading to five walks while striking out four. He needed 103 pitches to battle through the short outing, but came away with his third win of the season. The lone blemish on his evening was Jose Reyes' solo homer in the fifth inning. Minor will look to further improve upon his inflated 6.57 ERA when he takes on the Yankees at home next week.

Mike Minor was knocked around for four earned runs over five innings as part of a no-decision against the Nationals Saturday.
Minor struck out three, walked two and gave up six hits. He's now given up at least four runs in six straight starts and his ERA stands at an ugly 6.98. Minor's rotation spot has to be in jeopardy.

Mike Minor struggled against the Cardinals on Friday, giving up six runs on eight hits over his 4 2/3 innings of work.
Minor did manage to strike out seven and didn't walk a batter in the game. His pitches were catching far too much of the plate though and he was very hittable. Matt Carpenter, Carlos Beltran and Allen Craig each took him deep on the night. Minor now sits at 2-2 with a 6.59 ERA and may be better served getting some more seasoning at Triple-A. He'll look to improve next time out when he takes on the Marlins on Wednesday.

Mike Minor was lit up for eight runs in five innings by the Rockies on Saturday night.
Minor has been pounded twice in a row now, taking his ERA from 3.42 to 5.97. If it keeps up, it's possible he could be replaced by Jair Jurrjens in the rotation later this month. We don't expect it to come to that, though. He's still worth playing in NL-only leagues.

Mike Minor struck out nine Pirates over 6 1/3 innings Monday, but he also allowed seven runs on eight hits and three walks.
Minor was taken deep just one in his first four starts this season, but both Pedro Alvarez and Yamaico Navarro hit one over the boards Monday. Still, we're very encouraged by what Minor did in the opening month. Tonight pushed his ERA up to 4.68, but he boasts a 1.13 WHIP and 30/8 K/BB ratio over 32 2/3 innings. The left faces the Rockies in Denver next.

Mike Minor held the Brewers to two hits and one unearned run Saturday in the Braves' 2-1 victory.
Minor walked just one and struck out four in the sharp rebound outing. He got lit up by the Mets in his last start, but the 24-year-old left-hander is already back on track and should remain a reliable option in fantasy leagues throughout 2012. Craig Kimbrel closed things out Saturday for his fourth save of the year.

Mike Minor got lit up by the Mets Sunday, allowing six runs on four hits and six walks in five innings of Atlanta's loss.
Minor did record six strikeouts, but just didn't have it this afternoon, allowing three doubles while requiring 104 pitches to record his 15 outs. Minor will get a legitimate chance to lock down a rotation spot, but is going to have to get things on track by the time Tim Hudson comes off the disabled list. He's worth holding onto in all formats.
