"I'm a little different than Glasnow just because I've had two years (while injured) to work on stuff," Taillon said. "He's had those two be competing. I need to work on competing; he might need to work on mechanics more. My goal this spring is to attack hitters and treat it like a major league game." Some in Pittsburgh management feel Taillon has a good chance making the major leagues sooner than Glasnow.

Taillon, who completed two innings of an intrasquad game Monday, is progressing well early in spring training. "More than anything, I'm excited that I'm not being treated differently and I'm moving along quickly," Taillon told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "In the back of my head I was a little worried that I would be throwing a little slower (routine) than most. But I'm pretty much on the same schedule as everybody else."
