GM Neal Huntington said Sunday that Taillon (elbow) is "making progress" in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. "We look forward to getting him against an opposition uniform sooner than later," Huntington said. Huntington didn't delve into the specifics regarding when exactly Taillon might face hitters, so his return timetable still remains shrouded in mystery. Considering that Taillon is just over a year removed from the elbow procedure, it's hard to envision him reclaiming his spot in the Triple-A Indianapolis rotation until June at the earliest.

The Pirates sent Taillon (elbow) to minor league camp Thursday, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. Taillon is expected to begin the season in extended spring training as he rehabs from Tommy John surgery. He threw another bullpen session Tuesday and will throw live batting practice Friday. "We'll see how I respond to that on Saturday that's a big part of it," Taillon said. "I've been feeling good, feeling strong."

Taillon (elbow) will throw his second live batting practice Friday, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune reports. Taillon is scheduled to pitch in extended spring training in April, at which point he will be nearly a full year removed from Tommy John surgery. He's expected to progress to curve balls in due time, but for now, they're playing it safe with primarily fastballs. Look for Taillon to make a bid for a bullpen or rotation spot early in the second half, provided he remains free of setbacks.

Taillon faced live batters Friday for the first time since his Tommy John surgery. "Felt clean, felt strong," Taillon said of his outing. "We're holding the curveball back. We want to ease into it," the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. Taillon could crack Pittsburgh's rotation or bullpen later in the second half of 2015. He'll throw another live bullpen Tuesday. He's slated to start the season with High-A Bradenton as he eases his way back on the mound.

"It feels really good," Taillon said of his elbow. "My delivery's in a good place. Feeling strong. Feels healthy. I'm not really thinking about it, so that's a positive." The righty is expected to throw live batting practice Friday.

Taillon (elbow) is expected to throw his first live batting practice session since undergoing Tommy John Surgery next Friday, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. The first-round pick threw Friday and will throw another bullpen session before facing live batters late next week. Taillon, who expects to see his first game action during extended spring training, has an outside shot of pitching for the Pirates in 2015, though the team will likely limit his innings.

Taillon (elbow) will throw bullpens for two more weeks before progressing to live batting practice, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Bill Brink reports. It seems that everything is going according to plan in Taillon's recovery from Tommy John surgery. He will likely start the year rehabbing in the minor leagues, but the Pirates will work to gradually build him up to the point that he could debut for the Pirates midway through the season.

Taillon (elbow) will resume throwing off a mound next week, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. Taillon still has a way to go in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, but he will take a big step when he gets back on a mound. Expect him to be assigned to Triple-A Indianapolis when the Pirates determine he is ready for game action -- likely sometime during the summer.

Taillon (elbow) is not expected back until late in the second half of 2015, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. The Pirates are expected to be ultra conservative with Taillon, who underwent Tommy John surgery in April. His recovery continues to progress well -- he's throwing from 120 feet and pitching off flat ground -- but GM Neal Huntington has repeatedly stated that the organization is more concerned with his long-term future than rushing him back for 2015.
