Athletics manager Bob Melvin said no decision has been made about when Brett Anderson (elbow) will rejoin the rotation.
Anderson's 30-day rehab window is set to expire, so the A's will either have to activate him or option him to Triple-A if they feel he needs more tuneup time. It would be a surprise if his next start doesn't come with the A's. The left-hander is likely to replace Dan Straily, Jarrod Parker or Tommy Milone in the rotation.

Brett Anderson (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Saturday in Oakland.
Anderson threw 96 pitches for Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, and could conceivably rejoin the Athletics depending on the results. Oakland has a surplus of starting pitching, but Anderson could be a big addition down the stretch. Dan Straily and Jarrod Parker are candidates to be replaced.

The Athletics will make a decision about where Brett Anderson's (elbow) next start will come following a bullpen session either Friday or Saturday.
Anderson is sufficiently stretched out, having thrown 96 pitches for Triple-A Sacramento Wednesday, when he allowed three runs over five innings while striking out seven. It's possible his next start will come with the A's, or the team could buy some time in making a decision about their rotation by giving Anderson one more start for Sacramento.

Brett Anderson (elbow) is expected to make one more rehab start at Triple-A Sacramento before returning.
Anderson pitched well in his most recent rehab outing on Friday, throwing 47 of his 80 pitches for strikes over six shutout innings. He's getting much closer to returning, though we're not convinced he'll be his old self right away considering he had Tommy John surgery just 13 months ago.

Brett Anderson (elbow) will make his next rehab start Friday with Triple-A Sacramento.
Anderson is cleared to throw 90 pitches, so this is a sign that he's trending in the right direction. He'll likely make at least one more appearance, and possible more, before rejoining Oakland's rotation later this month.

Brett Anderson (elbow) is slated to make his next rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.
Anderson, who is making his way back from Tommy John surgery, gave up two runs over four innings Tuesday in his third rehab outing. He threw 73 pitches while striking out four and walking two. He's slated to throw around 75 pitches again on Saturday and feels he's "getting closer" to returning to the big leagues. The 24-year-old southpaw is worth stashing in AL-only and deeper mixed formats.

Brett Anderson (elbow) will get his pitch count up to 75 in his rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento Tuesday.
Anderson's results in his first two rehab outings haven't been great, but his fastball touched 93 mph in his last start. He'll likely need just 1-2 additional outings after Tuesday before rejoining the A's rotation. The lefty is worth a roster stash if you have room.

Brett Anderson (elbow) was clocked at 93 mph in his second rehab appearance Friday at Triple-A Sacramento.
Anderson was averaging 91.5 mph on his fastball prior to Tommy John surgery, so its notable progress. There's still no timetable for his return to Oakland, but he'll likely need most of his 30-day rehab window before receiving medical clearance.

Brett Anderson (elbow) allowed four runs over four innings Thursday in a rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento.
Anderson, who is working his way back from Tommy John surgery, allowed seven hits (including a solo homer) while striking out none and walking none. He threw 35 out of 53 pitches for strikes. The southpaw allowed two runs over two innings in his first rehab start on Saturday and will likely need most of his 30-day rehab window to get ready. Barring any setbacks, look for him to join the A's rotation in late August.

Brett Anderson (elbow) allowed two runs on four hits over two innings of work Saturday in his first rehab start with High-A Stockton.
He also hit a batter and threw just 20 of 35 pitches for strikes. Anderson evidently came out of it fine physically, though, which is obviously the team's primary concern. The left-hander will likely use most, if not all, of the available 30 days on his rehab assignment before rejoining the rotation sometime in August.
