A finger injury forced Anderson out of action in April and he made just five starts upon his return before the back issue crept up. The injury-plagued 2014 campaign marks his third straight with single-digit starts.

However, it seems unlikely that the Rockies will opt to exercise their $12 million option on the 26-year-old lefty.

Anderson will see a back specialist on Monday before his next move his determined, but it seems likely at this point that the Rockies will shut him down for the season.
