FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Rockies plan to either pick up Brett Anderson's $12 million option for 2015 or sign him to a long-term deal. Anderson has been terrific in his last two starts, but Rosenthal says Colorado wants to keep him around rather than field trade offers for him. The left-hander has been limited to just six starts this year due to a fractured left index finger, but he's put up a 3.24 ERA in those outings.

Brett Anderson tossed 6 1/3 scoreless innings against the Pirates on Friday for his first win of the season, but he was forced to exit due to an apparent blister on his throwing hand. Anderson didn't give up his first hit until the fifth inning and ended up allowing just two in all. It was a bit of an odd outing, as he struck out just one batter and walked four, but it was good enough to put him in line for the win. Anderson was at 102 pitches when he left the ballgame, so he likely didn't have much left, anyway. After all the injuries he has dealt with in recent seasons, fortunately this one seems minor.

Brett Anderson allowed six runs -- five earned -- on 10 hits over five innings against the Twins in his return from the disabled list on Sunday. Anderson got a rude greeting from the Twins in his return, as they got to him for five runs before the first inning ended. He settled down after that disastrous inning, allowing only an unearned run over his next four innings, but the damage was already done. The lefty was pretty good in Oakland but he'll likely have his struggles pitching at Coors Field in the second half.

Rockies activated LHP Brett Anderson from the 60-day disabled list. Anderson will make his return to the Rockies' rotation on Sunday against the Twins after missing three months with a fractured left index finger. Fantasy owners should probably give him a start or two to knock the rust off.

Brett Anderson (finger) is expected to rejoin the Rockies starting rotation on Sunday against the Twins. Anderson looked strong through his two minor league rehab starts, so the Rockies are comfortable bringing the southpaw back into the fold a little earlier than his projected timetable. Through his first three starts, he posted a 3.60 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 5/5 K/BB ratio over 15 innings.

Brett Anderson (finger) could rejoin the Rockies' rotation as soon as Saturday. Anderson had been slated for three rehab starts, but the Rockies are considering bringing him back after two following a successful second outing. They'll make a decision on Wednesday. "Brett is going to be back here (Wednesday), and then we'll make plans from there," manager Walt Weiss said. "Make sure he checks out all right. So far, so good."

Brett Anderson (finger) gave up one run over 5 2/3 innings Monday in his second minor league rehab start with Triple-A Colorado Springs. Anderson allowed six hits and one walk while striking out four batters. The oft-injured southpaw now has a 0.96 ERA and 8/2 K/BB ratio in 9 1/3 innings over his first two rehab outings. He's scheduled to throw 85 pitches in his next start, though the Rockies have yet to decide whether it will be in the majors or the minors. We should know more in the next couple of days.

Brett Anderson (finger) threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings Wednesday in his rehab debut at Triple-A Colorado Springs. Anderson struck out four and yielded just two hits in the impressive outing. He threw 39 of his 59 pitches for strikes and touched 90 mph with his fastball. The left-hander could be an option for the Rockies' starting rotation shortly after the All-Star break. He's been out since mid-April with a fractured left index finger.

Brett Anderson (finger) is scheduled to make his first minor league rehab start at Triple-A Colorado Springs on Wednesday. Anderson will surely need multiple starts at the minor league level before becoming an option to rejoin the Rockies. Look for him to return at some point around the All-Star break as long as he continues to progress.

Brett Anderson (finger) threw a successful 30-pitch live batting practice session Tuesday. Anderson will throw another live BP session Friday and then a bullpen session Sunday. The left-hander thinks he'll be ready for a rehab assignment after that. "I felt like I could have gone longer today, which is a good sign," Anderson said. "I didn't have any fatigue, especially here in Denver. I feel good. I'll keep progressing and take it one day at a time."
