Sean Monahan scored a goal in Calgary's 3-2 win over Phoenix on Wednesday.
Monahan now has 14 goals and 20 points in 44 games this season. After a hot start to the season, he's slowed down to the point where he's not worth owning in standard leagues. Even still, he's worth keeping an eye on in case he heats up again, and those in keeper leagues should still hold onto him.

Sean Monahan scored a goal in Calgary's 2-0 win over Carolina on Monday.
Calgary has had a ton of difficulty finding the back of the net lately, so even though Monahan has just three goals and no assists in his last seven games, he's been one of Calgary's top offensive players over that stretch. Monahan has 13 goals and 19 points in 39 games in his rookie campaign.

Sean Monahan has moved up from the fourth line to the second unit alongside Paul Byron and David Jones.
Monahan was placed on the fourth line when he returned from a hairline fracture on his ankle and has now been moved up. Coach Bob Hartley will soon start using the sixth overall pick in the 2013 as a penalty killer. "In the near future, you're going to see him on P.K., because I don't want to make him a one-trick pony," Hartley said. "I want Sean Monahan to be the most complete hockey player in the NHL, the most complete centerman in this league, to learn the game in the three zones. There's going to be times that we're going to put him in those situations so he learns from them." Monahan has 11 goals and 17 points this season.

Sean Monahan was the lone goal scorer for Calgary as they dropped a 4-1 decision to the Flyers on Tuesday.
It was the first goal in three games for the offensively-challenged Flames and needless to say, it was their third straight loss. Paul Byron drew the lone assist on Monahan's 11 goal of the season. Monahan is in consideration for the Calder Trophy but missing seven games due to a broken foot and the lack of talent around him in Calgary will hurt his chances.

Sean Monahan returned to action on Saturday after missing seven games with a broken foot.
Monahan played 15:20 minutes with 3:20 coming on the power play as he saw the ice for the first time since November 27. He had a tough time Saturday according to coach Bob Hartley. "I would have expected more from Monnie," Hartley said. "He's a young kid and he's going to have his ups and downs. (Saturday), with no morning skate, everything was against him. I thought he survived out there." Monahan has nine goals and 15 points in 25 games this season. He is worth owning in all keeper and deep pools.

Sean Monahan (foot) was on the ice Wednesday for the first time in nearly three weeks.
"There's no pain in it," Monahan said Wednesday. "I'm just trying to get back out there, and it's nice to be out there with the team again. I'm just going to work hard and work my way back in the lineup." Monahan should be considered day-to-day at this point. He has nine goals and 15 points in 24 games this season.

Sean Monahan, who is out at the moment with a broken foot, won't play in the World Juniors regardless of his injury status.
"We have spent a great deal of time discussing and debating the pros and cons of the situation in the context of what is best for Sean's continued professional development as a hockey player, as well as what is in the best interests of our team, our fans, and our organization," Flames GM Jay Feaster said. "We have concluded that in light of the prominent role Sean has played on our team to date, and the role we project he will continue to play once he returns from his injury, that Sean will remain with our hockey club." Before Monahan suffered his current injury, he was getting a solid amount of ice time and had rewarded the Flames with 15 points in 24 games. Playing in the tournament would have allowed Monahan to serve as a leader on a team with high expectations, but it's certainly not surprising that Calgary wants him to stay in the NHL.

The Calgary Flames are toying with the idea of loaning Sean Monahan (foot) to Team Canada for the 2014 World Juniors.
Monahan is currently out with a hairline fracture in his foot, so he might not be healthy enough to play. If he is though, it would provide him with a chance to play big minutes in some high pressure games on a team with expectations. Monahan didn't make the cut for last year's Canadian squad, but he has 15 points in 24 games as an NHL rookie.
