Manager John Farrell announced that he expects Shaw (hand) to rejoin the lineup Wednesday, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
After getting his first day off since 2015 on Tuesday due to a minor hand issue, Shaw will likely get back onto the diamond for the second game of Boston's series against Colorado. He'll likely take back over at third base, meaning that Josh Rutledge would get bumped back to a bench role Wednesday provided Shaw does return to the lineup.

Shaw (hand) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Colorado, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although Shaw's hand injury is believed to be minor, the Red Sox believe that it warrants at least one off day after he had started 76 consecutive contests, according to Britton. Josh Rutledge will take Shaw's place at third base Tuesday, batting eighth in the order against Jorge De La Rosa. If Shaw's hand injury is indeed minor, he should be able to return to the lineup during Boston's series with Colorado.

Shaw is unlikely to play Tuesday when the Red Sox return to action after Monday's day off due to a minor hand injury, WEEI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw was seen leaving Fenway Park after Sunday's win over the Indians, in which he went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts, wearing a brace on his left hand. A team source confirmed the young third-baseman is feeling soreness on the webbing between the thumb and forefinger of his left hand. If he's unable to go Tuesday, expect Josh Rutledge to start at third base.

Shaw hit his sixth home run and knocked in three runs in a 3-for-4 game Tuesday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw now has three home runs in his past seven games. He has hits in seven of his past eight games and is a robust 14-for-31 (.451) with five doubles to go with the dingers. Shaw's OPS is up to .973 as he looks more and more real by the game.

Shaw went 2-for-3 with a walk, a homer and two runs scored in Friday night's loss to the Astros. Boston's starting third baseman has hit in five straight, going 10-for-18 with six extra-base hits and eight RBI.
EDGE Analysis
As the days, weeks and months tick by, Shaw keeps adding to the sample size. His burst onto the MLB scene last August came out of nowhere, but at just 248 plate appearances, it left some uncertainty about whether the 26-year-old would sustain as MLB-pitchers learned now to pitch to him. Shaw has tacked on another 146 plate appearances (.962 OPS) to start 2016 and it's looking like last season was not a fluke.

Shaw mashed his fourth home run and knocked in five runs in a 3-for-5 performance Tuesday night against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw is red hot over his past two games, as he is 6-for-10 with three doubles and six RBI in the first two games of Boston's current series against the Athletics. Shaw went without a strikeout for the first time in 16 games and raised his batting line to a robust .322/.383/.545.

Shaw went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and a run in Monday's win over the A's.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw has struggled with his plate discipline early in 2016 - his walk rate (seven percent) and strikeout rate (27.3 percent) are both worse than last year's rookie campaign. However, his .308/.367/.504 slash line is much improved, and fairly compensates for the decline in discipline. Shaw has played in every game this season for the Red Sox, and locked in with league's best offense makes him a top option in most formats.

Shaw went 3-for-4 in Friday night's loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw has grabbed hold of Boston's third base job since manager John Farrell named him the starter over Pablo Sandoval in spring training. He ranks 14th in the American League with an .894 OPS (31st in MLB) and has strung together three pretty good months of hitting going back to August 2015. We were wondering if his success from 2015 was going to sustain and so far in 2016, it has.

Shaw went 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and five RBI in Tuesday's win over Braves.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old now ranks inside the top 10 in the American League in batting average (.324) and RBI (14). Shaw has hit safely in all but four games this season, and he's even added a couple stolen bases in the early going. Pablo Sandoval, meanwhile, is still trying to figure out what exactly is wrong with his shoulder.

Shaw went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer Sunday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw's first bomb of the season came in the ninth inning to make the final score a bit more respectable in a Red Sox loss. He's now hit safely in five straight games and his batting average sits at .324 with a .954 OPS.
