Shaw went 2-for-3 with a walk, a homer and two runs scored in Friday night's loss to the Astros. Boston's starting third baseman has hit in five straight, going 10-for-18 with six extra-base hits and eight RBI.
EDGE Analysis
As the days, weeks and months tick by, Shaw keeps adding to the sample size. His burst onto the MLB scene last August came out of nowhere, but at just 248 plate appearances, it left some uncertainty about whether the 26-year-old would sustain as MLB-pitchers learned now to pitch to him. Shaw has tacked on another 146 plate appearances (.962 OPS) to start 2016 and it's looking like last season was not a fluke.
