Andriese picked up a three-inning save as he allowed one run on three hits in a blowout win Tuesday over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Don't expect Andriese to get regular save opportunities any time soon, but he's doing well for himself in a long relief role. He has thrown 7.2 innings over his last three appearances and allowed just the one run with 10 strikeouts and not a single walk.

Andriese continued to thrive in a relief role Sunday, racking up five strikeouts over 2.2 innings of two-hit, scoreless ball against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The former starter was particularly sharp, throwing 32 of 44 pitches for strikes and notching an impressive 10 swinging strikes over his relatively brief time on the mound. The 26-year-old righty has posted scoreless efforts in five of his seven relief appearances, and has been able to eat up some innings when called upon, giving fellow former starter Erasmo Ramirez more rest. Interestingly, Andriese has notably thrown 2.2 innings or more in four of his seven bullpen outings, and has not given up a run in any of them.

Andriese (6-2) gave up two earned runs on a hit and a walk over 1.2 innings in Sunday's 5- 1 loss to the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Andriese has now dropped two straight decisions after starting out the season by winning five starts and his first bullpen appearance back on June 15. The 26-year-old had garnered his first hold of the season in his previous trip to the mound on June 30 by pitching three innings of shutout ball in the opening tilt of the four-game set versus the Tigers on Thursday, but gave up a leadoff double to Ian Kinsler and intentionally walked Miguel Cabrera in the eighth before being pulled for Xavier Cedeno. Cedeno subsequently allowed both of Andriese's runners to score, saddling him with the loss. Despite the hiccup, Andriese remains one of the Rays' most viable options for longer relief stints.

Andriese (6-1) gave up five hits, two earned runs and two walks over 4.2 innings in Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Orioles in the matinee game of a doubleheader.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old right-hander was back in the starting rotation for an afternoon, and generated mixed results. Andriese was in for only 78 pitches, but recorded five whiffs and induced 18 swinging strikes. He gave up RBI singles to J.J. Hardy and Adam Jones in the second after surrendering an inning-opening double to Jonathan Schoop, but was otherwise effective. He's expected to head back to the bullpen, where he'd been transitioned following Blake Snell's call-up.

Andriese gave up three hits and two earned runs over 1.2 innings in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Indians. He also struck out a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old had a rocky 36-pitch tune-up for his upcoming Saturday spot start versus the Orioles, his first poor performance since being moved to the bullpen. Andriese gave up an RBI single to Carlos Santana that plated Tyler Naquin, and then saw Santana come home courtesy of a Francisco Lindor sacrifice fly. The right-hander had fired 3.2 scoreless frames over a pair of relief appearances prior to Wednesday.

Andriese has been confirmed as one of the starters in Saturday's doubleheader versus the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old right-hander had been a likely candidate for the spot start, and the matter was confirmed Tuesday. Andriese was a perfect 5-0 with a 2.82 ERA over seven starts earlier in the season before making his last two appearances out of the bullpen following Blake Snell's call-up.

Andriese, who's made his last two appearances in relief, could see a spot start in Saturday's doubleheader in Baltimore, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old was reassigned to the bullpen shortly after his June 10 start to make room for 23-year-old phenom Blake Snell in the rotation, but could find himself in a familiar role come Saturday. Andriese has been effective in his pair of relief appearances, firing 3.2 scoreless innings of one-hit ball while striking out three. He was effective over seven starts as well, generating a solid 2.82 ERA and 5-0 record. The right-hander had three relief stints against the Orioles last season, giving up five hits and four earned runs over three innings, with much of that damage coming in an Aug. 31 appearance.

Andriese (6-0) was successful in his first relief effort during Wednesday's 3-2, extra-inning victory over the Mariners, surrendering only a walk over 2.2 innings while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old performed exactly as hoped when he was shifted to the bullpen, providing some valuable long relief in a game that stretched to 13 innings. It was an extension of the success Andriese had largely enjoyed over his seven starts this season, during which he'd generated a 2.82 ERA. If Wednesday's effort is any indication, Andriese's ability to eat up innings will serve to provide Erasmo Ramirez much-needed down time, making the bullpen more effective as a whole.

Andriese will move to the bullpen, losing his rotation spot to 23-year-old Blake Snell, Steve Carney of 620 AM Tampa Bay reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andriese has been a solid rotation option for the Rays this season, as he's accumulated a 5-0 record and allowed more than three earned runs in just one of his seven starts. He'll move to the bullpen for now, however, as the Rays need to make room for top prospect Blake Snell, who is scheduled to take the mound Thursday against Seattle. Andriese will serve in long relief for the time being, but could be called upon for a spot start at any point if the need arises.

Andriese (5-0) surrendered eight hits, three earned runs and four walks over 5.1 innings in Friday's 4-3 victory over the Astros. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The young right-hander continued his impressive stretch since an early May call-up from Triple-A, throwing 64 of 101 pitches for strikes and securing first-pitch strikes on 19 of 26 hitters. The 26-year-old has only pitched 10.1 innings combined over his last two starts, but has done just enough to still notch a victory. Control was the only real step backward for Andriese on Friday, as the four free passes he issued were a season high, and marked the fourth time in seven starts that he'd walked multiple batters. He'll look to keep his perfect record intact versus the Mariners next Thursday.
