Andriese (groin) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rays are terming Andriese's groin strain as a mild one, though given the volatile timetable of such injuries, it's possible that he'll require more than the minimum 10 days to recover. Though Ryan Garton was recalled from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move to provide bullpen depth in the short term, the Rays will likely delve into their minor-league ranks next week to select a replacement in the rotation for Andriese, who had turned in a 3.45 ERA and 54 strikeouts over 60 innings this season. Pitching prospects Brent Honeywell and Jose De Leon represent perhaps the most appealing fantasy options that could potentially assume Andriese's spot.

Andriese (groin) is expected to be placed on the 10-day disabled list, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andriese exited Tuesday's start in the second inning with a mild groin strain and it appears he'll be sidelined for the long-term as he recovers. It's a tough loss for the Rays considering the right-hander's 3.45 ERA and 54:21 K:BB, but they have two off days within the next ten days, so a replacement starter may not be necessary. Don't expect Andriese to miss more than one or two starts, though Austin Pruitt is projected to be recalled for bullpen depth during his absence.

Andriese left Tuesday's start against the Rangers with a mild groin strain.
EDGE Analysis
He allowed two runs on three hits while recording just five outs before exiting. It is unclear how long Andriese will be sidelined, but the Rays have a plethora of options to replace him in the rotation, including Blake Snell, Jose De Leon, Jacob Faria, Brent Honeywell and Chih-Wei Hu, who replaced him in this game.

Andriese left Tuesday's start against the Rangers in the second inning with an apparent injury, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He allowed two runs on three hits while recording just five outs before exiting. The exact nature of the injury is unknown, but his status will be updated when the team provides an initial diagnosis. Chih-Wei Hu, who replaced him in this game, along with Blake Snell, Jose De Leon, Jacob Faria and Brent Honeywell would all be options to replace Andriese in the rotation if he is forced to miss more time.

Andriese (5-1) threw eight scoreless innings with six hits and two walks allowed while striking out five batters during Thursday's win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
After his worst start of the season against the Yankees last time out, this was a spectacular bounce-back showing from Andriese. He's posted admirable fantasy numbers with a 3.24 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 8.0 K/9 to go along with his five wins. While the 27-year-old righty is clearly deserving of more virtual attention going forward, it is probably still wise to consider avoiding daunting matchups. His upcoming road start against Texas likely qualifies and will be a telling outing.

Andriese (4-1) gave up five earned runs on six hits in five-plus innings in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Yankees. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Andriese was done in by some hard contact, surrendering a solo home run to Aaron Judge in the second inning, a two-run double to Chase Headley in the fourth and another solo blast to Gary Sanchez in the fifth. The five earned runs were a season high for the 27-year-old, and the game also marked the second outing in which he gave up a pair of homers. However, thanks to some run support. Andriese escaped with his third win over his last four trips to the mound. He'll look to keep the momentum going at home against the Dodgers next Thursday.

Andriese (3-1) allowed just two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out five batters over five innings during Sunday's win over Boston.
EDGE Analysis
Boston boasts an excellent lineup, and Andriese battled his way out of a number of jams to turn in the solid outing. His 3.18 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 8.3 K/9 are respectable fantasy numbers, and he's allowed two runs or fewer in five of eight starts, so the 27-year-old righty is proving to be a reliable low-end fantasy asset. Andriese has another tough divisional opponent on deck next weekend, as the Yankees visit Tropicana Field.

Andriese pitched 5.1 innings against Kansas City on Tuesday, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out seven.
EDGE Analysis
He's been an unexpectedly valuable fantasy asset early on thanks to that 3.12 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 40.1 innings, but Andriese puts way too many men on base to keep living such a charmed life. If he doesn't cut down on the number of walks and hits he allows, strand-rate regression will hit him hard. Andriese is a usable starter in a lot of fantasy formats, but he's the kind of guy you can cut as soon as the wind changes direction.

Andriese (2-1) struck out eight over seven scoreless innings in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Marlins, giving up five hits and three walks.
EDGE Analysis
Outside of his spotty control, Andriese was brilliant, notching 14 swinging strikes on the night and neutralizing a Marlins offense that had popped off for 10 runs the night prior. His trouble finding the strike zone may have cost him a complete game, as he was pulled after seven frames having thrown a season-high 113 pitches. Nevertheless, that makes two consecutive seven-inning quality starts for the 27-year-old right-hander, who'll look to keep the momentum going versus the struggling Royals in a home start next Tuesday.

Andriese (1-1) allowed four runs, three of which were earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out four across seven innings to take the loss Saturday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Andriese was in a pitcher's duel until allowing a two-run shot to Justin Smoak in the sixth inning, and he left the contest with a 4-1 deficit, which led to his first loss of the season. He's been a solid fantasy performer over his last four starts, as he's allowed just eight earned runs, and his ERA is at 3.86, making him a pitcher who should remain in most fantasy lineups. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Marlins.
