Mark Teixeira (calf) is aiming to return to the Yankees' lineup by the end of this week.
Teixeira hasn't played in a week because of a left calf strain and is not in the Yankees' staring lineup on Monday afternoon against the Rays. Nick Swisher will start at first base. Ichiro Suzuki will play right field.

Mark Teixeira has reported improvement with his strained left calf but is expected to be sidelined for at least another week.
It's no surprise as Teixeira is just four days into his 1-2 week timetable. The fact that the Yankees are playing three games on artificial turf in Tampa next week ensures that the first baseman is still at least a week away. It doesn't appear to be a long-term concern, though.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Mark Teixeira (calf) is unlikely to play in at least the next five games.
Teixeira made an early exit from Monday's game with a left calf strain. He was sent for an MRI, but the results aren't yet known. Either way, the Yankees aren't expecting him back quickly.

Mark Teixeira has been diagnosed with a left calf strain.
It's not clear when Teixeira hurt himself, but he was seen stretching out the calf during an at-bat Monday and eventually left the game. He'll undergo an MRI, at which point the Yankees will have a better idea how long he'll be out.

Mark Teixeira (wrist) in not in the Yankees' lineup Saturday.
Teixeira is expected to miss the entire Red Sox series, and possibly more, before returning to the lineup. Consider him day-to-day for now, but the Yankees haven't ruled out placing him on the disabled list.

Mark Teixeira (wrist) is not in the Yankees' lineup Friday.
It's the same injury that's limited him since late-July. "It's to the point where we're going to have to give him some time off again," manager Joe Girardi said. "I don't think that it's a long-term problem, we've just got to get through this. I wouldn't be surprised if it's more than a day."

Mark Teixeira and Eric Chavez hit back-to-back homers in the eighth inning to lead the Yankees to a 4-3 win over the Tigers on Thursday.
The solo homers came off Joaquin Benoit, who took a blown save and a loss, as the Yankees salvaged a four-game series split after losing the first two games in Detroit. Teixeira has 21 homers and 75 RBI in 384 at-bats for the season. Only five American Leaguers have more RBI.

Mark Teixeira (wrist) is scheduled to take some swings Friday to determine if he's ready to return to the starting lineup.
Teixeira hasn't played since Monday due to inflammation in his left wrist. He was given a cortisone shot earlier this week and appears to be making progress, but we'll know more after he goes through pre-game activities.

Mark Teixeira does not have any structural damage in his left wrist.
Feel free to exhale, Yankees fans. Teixeira was officially diagnosed with left wrist inflammation. He received a cortisone shot in the wrist and will be re-evaluated in three days. It doesn't sound like he'll require an extended absence.

After leaving Monday's game, the Yankees announced that Mark Teixeira has a left wrist injury.
Manager Joe Girardi seems spooked. "It's a big concern," Girardi said. "We'll keep our fingers crossed." The Yankees will conduct further tests on Tuesday. Teixeira attempted to grab a J.J. Hardy grounder Monday and left the field in great pain. Anything between day-to-day status and a prolonged D.L. stint are in play at this point.
