Mark Teixeira went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's 7-6 win over the Twins. It took the slugger 12 games to earn his first four-bagger -- tied for his second longest homerless stretch to start a season. The effort pushes him into slightly more respectable territory with a .286/.364/.408 batting line.

Mark Teixeira was unable to go through workouts Saturday after fouling a ball off his foot during Friday's game against South Florida. George A. King III of the New York Post said Teixeira "wasn't noticeably limping" in the clubhouse Saturday, and it appears to be a non-issue. "He was getting treatment on his foot from a foul ball,'' Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said. "No worries, no test [necessary]. He should be fine [Sunday], but he was sore.''

Mark Teixeira said Tuesday that he might lay some bunts down this season in order to beat the shift. Teams have quickly adjusted to Teixeira's pull-happy ways, which led to career-lows in batting average (.248) and batting average on balls in play (.239) last season. We'd imagine the Yankees wouldn't be thrilled about their cleanup hitter bunting -- and they'll likely continue to look for more constructive solutions to the problem -- but the hope is that occasionally laying one down could keep opposing defenses honest.

Mark Teixeira homered twice and drove in five runs in Wednesday's 8-7, 12-inning win over the Rays. The Yanks choked away a 7-0 lead this evening, but it was no thanks to Tex, who took David Price deep for a grand slam in the second before adding a solo shot in the fourth. He'll finish his year with a .248/39/111 triple-crown slash and .248/.341/.494 triple slash. Undoubtedly a solid season, but the .835 OPS is his lowest since he posted an .811 mark as a rookie in 2003. His numbers have now taken a noticeable decline in back-to-back seasons, and it's hard to predict what he might do heading into a 2012 where he will be 32 and making $22.5 million.

Mark Teixeira is batting fifth Tuesday night against the Rays. Teixeira has primarily batted third or fourth this season, but Yankees manager Joe Girardi may keep him in the fifth spot once the playoffs begin. For what it's worth, he has Curtis Granderson batting second, Robinson Cano third and Alex Rodriguez in the cleanup spot Wednesday.

Mark Teixeira and Nick Swisher are not in Monday's lineup against the Rays. In other words, the Wild Card-hopeful Rays catch a bit of a break. Jorge Posada will make the start at first base while Eduardo Nunez will play right field.

Mark Teixeira is encouraged by the progress in his bruised right knee. Teixeira has missed the past two games after getting hit on his right knee Thursday by Alfredo Aceves. He is aiming to return to the Yankees' starting lineup Sunday. If that doesn't happen, Nick Swisher will likely continue to fill in at first base.
