Mark Teixeira and Eric Chavez hit back-to-back homers in the eighth inning to lead the Yankees to a 4-3 win over the Tigers on Thursday. The solo homers came off Joaquin Benoit, who took a blown save and a loss, as the Yankees salvaged a four-game series split after losing the first two games in Detroit. Teixeira has 21 homers and 75 RBI in 384 at-bats for the season. Only five American Leaguers have more RBI.
