Mark Teixeira left Monday's game after injuring himself in the seventh inning while diving for a ball in the field.
Teixeira attempted to stab a J.J. Hardy grounder and left the field grimacing. Eric Chavez shifted from third to first and Jayson Nix entered the contest playing the hot corner. Teixeira hurt either his hand or wrist on the play. New York has not yet revealed the injury or its severity.

Mark Teixeira smashed a pair of home runs and drove home five in Friday's 6-5 victory over the Angels.
Teixeira finished the game 2-for-4 with the critical blasts. His first, a two-run shot off C.J. Wilson in the third inning, gave the Yankees a 2-1 lead. He then added a three-run blast off Scott Downs in the eighth inning that tied the game at five and set the stage for a comeback victory. Typically a much better performer in the second half of the season, expect big things from Teixeira over the next few months.

Mark Teixeira blasted a three-run homer off Felix Doubront in Saturday's loss to the Red Sox.
He finished the night 1-for-4 with the big fly. While Teixeira's average is still lagging at .247, he's still producing his consistent power numbers with 15 homers and 53 RBI. Historically, Teix has been a much better performer in the second half, so expect him to surge coming out of the All-Star break.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Mark Teixeira (heel) should be back in the starting lineup Friday.
Teixeira took a line drive off his left heel in Tuesday's loss to the Braves. While it doesn't sound like a major concern, Girardi decided to give him the day off Wednesday.

Mark Teixeira ripped a two-run double off Brad Lidge in the top of the 14th inning on Saturday, leading the Yankees to a 5-3 victory over the Nationals in Washington.
Teixeira was 0-for-5 with three strikeouts heading into that final at-bat, but more than redeemed himself with the clutch double. His average is still in the tank at .243, but it's hard to argue with the consistent power production that he provides year in and year out. He has now driven in 38 runs on the season to go along with his 11 homers.

Mark Teixeira belted a two-run homer off Dillon Gee in the sixth inning, leading the Yankees to a 4-2 victory over the Mets on Saturday.
Teixeira finished the night 1-for-2, but that one was the most important hit of the game. He may only be hitting .248 on the year, but still remains one of the most consistent run producers in the game with 11 homers and 35 RBI. He's driven in at least 105 runs each of the last eight seasons, and as long as he keeps hitting in the middle of the Yankees lineup, that should continue again this year.
