Mark Teixeira (wrist) will not play Sunday or Monday.
Teixeira was forced from Saturday's game against the Twins with lingering soreness in his surgically-repaired right wrist. He did not play at all in this week's three-game series in St. Louis and could be headed to the disabled list if he doesn't feel better Tuesday.

Mark Teixeira left Saturday's game against the Twins with an undisclosed injury.
Brian Roberts was in the on-deck circle in Teixeira's place in the bottom of the fifth, but the inning ended. Teixeira took his spot at first base and made it through the top of the sixth, then was pinch-hit for by Roberts leading off the bottom of the sixth. Teixeira has been dealing with soreness in his right wrist, so that seems like a likely culprit. The Yankees should provide more details soon. Teixeira was 0-for-2 with a strikeout prior to his departure.

Mark Teixeira will undergo an ultrasound on Thursday in hopes of confirming that he's only dealing with some inflammation in his surgically-repaired right wrist.
"He's 99 percent sure that this is inflammation from overuse and completely expected," Teixeira said, referring to Dr. Keith Raskin, who performed the operation. "He was surprised I didn't have more flare ups so it's been pretty good all season." Teixeira played through some soreness for a few games before deciding it was best to take a little time off. He's likely to take a third straight day of rest Wednesday before hopefully returning to action Friday after the off day.

Mark Teixeira (wrist) indicated Monday that he's likely to sit out again on Tuesday.
In fact, he might skip hitting altogether Tuesday as he tries to get rid of the soreness in his surgically-repaired right wrist. Teixeira noted that he's felt some soreness on occasion this season, but he sat out Monday because it was worse than normal. "It's just inflammation, we think," Teixeira said. "It's probably time to take a day or two off to let it calm down anyway."
