Teixeira (finger) is not in the lineup Saturday vs. the Indians, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports. Teixeira will miss his third straight contest as he awaits his left pinky finger to regain feeling, after requiring stitches in the digit a couple days earlier. Chase Headley will again cover first base in his absence.

Teixeira (finger) remains out of the lineup Friday. He received stitches in his left pinky finger and will now miss his second game in a row as he recovers. It's a day-to-day situation with Teixeira, and he could be back Saturday, but Chase Headley will slot in at first base Friday.

Teixeira is set to receive stitches in his left pinky finger, which will cause him to miss Thursday's game, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports. Teixeira's absence isn't expected to last too long due to the recent ailment, but he'll miss at least one game as a result. On the last occurrence Teixeira had to miss time, manager Joe Girardi shifted catcher Brian McCann over to first base, while Francisco Cervelli manned the backstop. A similar strategy could be used in Thursday's -- and possibly Friday's -- games.

Teixeira (illness) is back in the lineup Tuesday against the Tigers. Teixeira was scratched shortly before Monday's first pitch as a result of light-headedness, which is presumably a thing of the past. He's been quite productive in his last six games, hitting .263 (5-for-19) with two long balls, three RBI, five runs scored, and five walks versus two strikeouts.

Mark Teixeira went 1-for-2 with a home run, three walks and three runs scored in a win over the Rangers on Tuesday. It was a triumphant return to the lineup for the 34-year-old, who had missed more than a week with a lower left lat strain. The homer was his 18th in 78 games this year, and he's got 50 RBI to boot. Now healthy and, apparently, seeing the ball well, Teixeira can safely be inserted back into fantasy lineups going forward.

Mark Teixeira (lat) is out of the Yankees' starting lineup again Monday against the Rangers. Teixeira hasn't played since last Saturday due to a lower left lat strain, but he came through an extensive workout Sunday with no issues. The Yankees remain hopeful that he'll be able to avoid a DL stint and return soon.
