Mark Teixeira (wrist) took live batting practice on Monday.
He took only three swings from each side of the plate, but it was an item he can cross off his checklist nonetheless. I wish I'd gotten a little more work, but we'll get more work the next time I'm out there," Teixeira said. Teixeira will face live BP again Tuesday before making his Grapefruit League debut Thursday. While he hasn't encountered any setbacks during his rehab, Teixeira admitted that batting lefty is his main concern since his surgically-repaired right wrist is the bottom hand from that side.

Mark Teixeira (wrist) will make his Grapefruit League debut on Thursday or Friday.
Teixeira's rehab from right wrist surgery has gone swimmingly, though the first baseman has admitted that he'll probably have to deal with tightness in the wrist for a while. The 33-year-old was limited to just 15 games last season due to injury.

George A. King III of the New York Post reports that Mark Teixeira (wrist) isn't likely to play in Grapefruit League games until March 3, at the earliest.
Teixeira has been hitting off a batting tee and take batting practice off coaches, but he estimated Thursday that he's "probably a week to 10 days" away from live batting practice. The first baseman hasn't had any setbacks since last July's right wrist surgery and still will have plenty of time to get ready for Opening Day. Teixeira has admitted that he'll probably have to deal with tightness in his wrist for a while.

Mark Teixeira told Daniel Barbarisi of the Wall Street Journal that he expects to feel some tightness in his surgically-repaired wrist until at least June and possibly through the whole season.
Teixeira hasn't had any setbacks since surgery last July and has begun taking batting practice in recent weeks, but he still feels some tightness and doctors have told him that it will likely take a year for his wrist to feel back to normal. While the veteran first baseman vows to play through the expected tightness, it wouldn't be surprising if his power suffered. His situation is yet another question mark in the Yankees' infield.

Mark Teixeira (wrist) told Bryan Hoch of MLB.com that he is close to 100 percent healthy.
Teixeira required season-ending surgery on his right wrist in July. "I feel like I'm healed," the first baseman said. "I wish I was a little bit looser; my wrist is going to be tight for a while because of the way the surgery was performed ... but that's why I'm doing rehab every day and doing exercises every day. I'll start swinging a bat in January and that will also help loosen it up." The 33-year-old will look to get his career back on track in 2014 after a lost 2013 and seven straight seasons of OPS decline.

Mark Teixeira said on YES Network on Monday that he hopes to be "swinging full-speed" in January.
Teixeira underwent season-ending surgery on his right wrist in July and is making steady progress in his rehab. He's expected to work on strengthening and flexibility exercises through December and aims to begin tee and pitching machine work by January 1. He's hoping to be hitting off a 90-mph pitching machine by February before being eased into Grapefruit League action in early March. The timeline is subject to change and setbacks are possible, so fantasy owners will have to track his progress carefully.

Mark Teixeira underwent season-ending surgery on his right wrist Monday.
Teixeira provided an update on his personal Twitter account, noting that the doctor said it "couldn't have gone better." The 33-year-old is expected to be ready for spring training next year, though a procedure involving the wrist is always a cause for concern. The Yankees still owe him $22.5 million per season from 2014-2016.
