Jake Peavy allowed six runs on nine hits over 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Twins on Tuesday.
The upshot is that Peavy only walked two on the night, which had been an issue for the American League leader in free passes. Unfortunately for Peavy, that's about the only positive to be taken from the night. He allowed a home run for his eighth straight start, and it was the first time this season he's lasted fewer than five innings. Peavy owns a 3.94 ERA and 1.46 WHIP into his next start against the Tigers on Saturday.

Jake Peavy will start Tuesday against the Twins.
Felix Doubront was originally scheduled to make the start, but he has been pushed back to Wednesday. Peavy owns a 3.09 ERA through seven starts this season, but he has walked 25 batters in just 42 2/3 innings. His last start was last Wednesday, so apparently the Red Sox don't want him to go a week between outings. This will also line him up to face the Tigers this weekend.

Jake Peavy allowed three runs in six-plus innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Reds.
It could have been worse: Peavy left with the bases loaded and no outs in the seventh, but Chris Capuano and Burke Badenhop combined to allow just one of the runners to score in finishing the inning. Peavy walked four once again. That makes five times this season. He's walked 25 batters in 43 2/3 innings overall, a huge step up from last year's 36 walks in 144 2/3 innings of from his 49 walks in 219 innings in 2012. He's pitched pretty well anyway, but he's walking a thin line.

Jake Peavy yielded two runs and three hits in 6 1/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Rays.
Peavy lost the game in the fourth, when he pitched around James Loney with two outs and a man on third. It turned out to be the first of three straight walks, scoring the go-ahead run for the Rays. Apart from that frame, Peavy was quite strong again. He's allowed two runs or fewer in five of his six starts.

Jake Peavy turned in an impressive outing in Friday's victory over the Blue Jays, allowing just one run on five hits over seven strong innings.
Peavy racked up seven strikeouts on the evening while walking two. The only damage against him came on a solo blast by Juan Francisco in the seventh. He now sits at 1-0 on the season with a 2.87 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 32/16 K/BB ratio through his first 31 1/3 frames. He'll look to extend his winning streak when he does battle against the Rays on Thursday.

Jake Peavy struggled in a no-decision against the Orioles on Sunday, surrendering five runs on 10 hits over his 5 2/3 innings of work.
Peavy walked five and struck out four on the evening. The O's jumped on him early in this one, striking for three runs in the first inning including a solo homer off the bat of Nelson Cruz. The veteran right-hander will carry a 3.33 ERA, troublesome 1.48 WHIP and 25/14 K/BB ratio into his next outing against the Blue Jays in Toronto on Friday.

Jake Peavy pitched well in Tuesday's start against the White Sox, allowing one run over six innings, but took home the no-decision.
Peavy allowed three hits, walked four, and struck out eight, lowering his ERA to 1.93. The veteran has been uncharacteristically spotty with his command, walking 10 in 18 2/3 innings to begin the season, but still has the swing-and-miss stuff to wiggle out of jams. Peavy will face the Orioles his next time out.

Jake Peavy pitched 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball and struck out eight against the Rangers on Wednesday.
Peavy gave up a game-tying homer to Mitch Moreland in the seventh to lose his bid for a win. He's impressed in both of his starts to date, amassing a 2.18 ERA, but he doesn't have a victory to show for it. The eight strikeouts tonight matched his high as a member of the Red Sox.

Jake Peavy allowed one run, striking out five, over 4 2/3 innings against the Pirates on Wednesday.
Peavy has allowed two runs over 7 2/3 spring innings, and the right-hander said after the game that he feels as healthy as he's been in a long time. Peavy allowed four hits and a walk in Wednesday's outing. His only mistake was a pitch Travis Ishikawa deposited over the fence for a home run.
