Jake Peavy allowed two runs -- one earned -- over six innings in a no-decision against the Orioles on Sunday. Peavy allowed six hits and two walks, striking out three on the day. He remains 1-7 with the no-decision, but he lowered his ERA to 4.64 with the good outing. He'll go for his second win of the season at the Astros on Friday.

Jake Peavy dropped to 1-7 after allowing two runs in six innings Monday against the Cubs. It was another loss for Peavy, but still his best result in a couple of weeks. He struck out seven, and one of the two extra-base hits he allowed probably would have been caught had Jackie Bradley Jr. started in center field rather than Mookie Betts. The solid outing should keep him in the rotation to face the Orioles this weekend.

Jake Peavy was torched for seven runs in five innings to take a loss to the Mariners on Tuesday. Peavy allowed eight hits, and we aren't talking soft contact; he was blitzed for four extra-base hits, including two homers, in spacious Safeco Field. Kyle Seager's three-run dinger in the fifth inning was the real back-breaker, putting the Mariners up 6-2, but Mike Zunino followed with a solo job just in case. Peavy has a nice matchup on deck with the Cubs coming to town next week, but, at 1-6 with a 4.93 ERA, you'd have more guts than us if you trotted him out in a mixed league lineup.

Jake Peavy allowed four runs -- three earned -- on five hits over 6 1/3 innings in a loss against the A'S on Thursday. Peavy didn't surrender a geyser of runs, but he coughed up a drip of one run apiece in the second, third and fourth innings. By the time his offense chipped in with two runs in the sixth, the game had gotten away from Boston. The veteran struck out four and walked three. Now a disappointing 1-5 with a 4.52 ERA and 1.43 WHIP, Peavy travels to Seattle on Tuesday.

Jake Peavy tossed six innings of one-run ball in a no-decision Saturday versus the Indians. It was his best start in a while, but Peavy got only two runs of support from Boston's offense and the Indians rallied in the seventh inning to steal the victory. Peavy struck out five and walked two. He will carry a 4.53 ERA and 1.44 WHIP into his next scheduled start on the road against the A's.

Jake Peavy surrendered four runs in seven innings to take a loss to the Orioles on Monday. Peavy wasn't all that bad tonight and he's had just one really terrible outing this year (6 ER in 4 1/3 IP against Minnesota on May 13), but his ERA has been steadily rising. He's had just one quality start in his last six turns, and that was also the only one of his starts in which the Red Sox got a win. If this were the Red Sox offense of 2013, Peavy's mediocrity could be more easily absorbed. As is, he's been quite a liability of late. He shouldn't be active in mixed leagues right now.

Jake Peavy fell to 1-3, allowing five runs over 6 1/3 innings as the Red Sox lost to the Indians 5-3 on Tuesday. The 33-year-old veteran's struggles continue, as he has now allowed five-plus runs in four out of his last five outings. On Tuesday, he allowed eight hits, walked one, and struck out only three. Peavy owns a 4.72 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP, both of which he will try to lower in his next start against the Orioles on the road.

Jake Peavy got the no-decision, allowing three runs over eight innings in Thursday's win over the Braves. Peavy scattered the three runs, allowing eight hits and walking one while striking out four. The right-hander had compiled three consecutive mediocre outings before bouncing back against the Braves on Thursday. He'll take his 4.50 ERA over ten starts in search of his second win in his next start against the Indians on the road.

Jake Peavy surrendered five earned runs in six innings Saturday as the Red Sox fell to the Rays. Peavy was staked to a 5-0 lead after the top of the first inning but couldn't keep the Red Sox ahead, yielding one run in the second, one run in the fourth, and then three runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Rays wound up winning in the 15th, sending the Sox to their ninth straight defeat. Boston is in last place in the American League East standings with a 20-28 record. Peavy has a rough 4.65 ERA and 1.50 WHIP.

Jake Peavy struggled in Sunday's loss to the Tigers, surrendering five runs on 11 hits over his six innings. Peavy struck out two without walking a batter on the evening. The Tigers jumped on him in the third inning with an RBI single by Miguel Cabrera and a two-run homer from Victor Martinez. Peavy has not been very effective in the early part of the season, compiling a 4.33 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 43/27 K/BB ratio through 54 innings. He'll try to turn things around when he does battle against the Rays in Tampa Bay on Saturday.
