The Chicago Tribune's Mark Gonzales believes Carlos Quentin, Matt Thornton, Gavin Floyd and John Danks are all candidates to be traded by the White Sox this offseason.
Of course not all four will be traded, but at least one is likely to be moved after the Sox seemed to get old in a hurry in 2011. Coming off a typically solid season that saw him hit .254/.340/.499 to go along with 55 extra-base hits and 77 RBI in 118 games, Quentin could prove to be surprisingly valuable on the trade market with power becoming a far rarer commodity in recent seasons.

Carlos Quentin (shoulder) is unlikely to play in any of the White Sox final six games.
Quentin came off the disabled list on September 12, but has not played since. With the White Sox simply playing for pride these next six days, they won't risk making their ailing right fielder's shoulder injury any worse.

White Sox activated OF Carlos Quentin from the 15-day disabled list.
Quentin wound up missing around three weeks because of a sprained shoulder. The 29-year-old outfielder returns to a .255/.341/.501 batting line, 24 home runs and 77 RBI. Even with the White Sox now out of contention, he should be active down the stretch.

Carlos Quentin (shoulder) is not close to returning to the lineup.
The White Sox had been hoping he would be ready to rejoin the lineup this weekend, but he's simply not progressing as hoped. "I don't think he'll be ready soon,'' manager Ozzie Guillen said. "He keeps swinging, but I don't hear the right things about his progress.'' It sounds like it's possible he might not make it back at all this season, but we'll have to see if he takes steps forward in the coming days.

Carlos Quentin (shoulder) could return this weekend.
At least, that's what White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen told the media on Wednesday. Quentin has been on the disabled list since August 21 with a left shoulder sprain and just recently began swinging a bat. But perhaps he could be ready to rock by Sunday afternoon.

Carlos Quentin said his left shoulder has made progress, but he won't be ready to play by Monday, when he is eligible to come off the disabled list.
He sprained the AC joint in his left shoulder while making a tumbling catch in the outfield last month. Quentin said his swing has improved as pain has dissipated, but it'd be a gamble to start him in most fantasy formats this coming week.

Carlos Quentin (shoulder) has begun taking some light swings.
Quentin was placed on the disabled list over the weekend with a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder. While he is eligible to return as soon as Monday, it's not clear if he'll be ready by then. Dayan Viciedo and Alejando De Aza will continue to see playing time in right field during his absence.

White Sox placed OF Carlos Quentin on the 15-day disabled list with a left shoulder sprain.
Quentin suffered the sprain last Saturday while making a tumbling catch in the outfield and made no significant progress this week. The move was made retroactive to August 21, but he's likely to need a full 15 days of recovery time anyway. The 28-year-old has posted an .842 OPS and 24 home runs in 117 games this season.

Carlos Quentin is expected to be placed on the disabled list after his ailing left shoulder "didn't respond favorably" when he attempted some dry swings on Friday.
Quentin has been sidelined since last Saturday, so he could return as early as September 6. However, the fact that the White Sox have decided to place him on the disabled list after playing with a short bench for nearly a week must mean he still has a lot of progress to make, as Quentin will now be unavailable for Chicago's critical three-game visit to Detroit that begins on September 2. Alejandro De Aza should continue to man right field in his absence.

White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said following Wednesday's game that he doesn't expect Carlos Quentin (shoulder) to play this weekend against the Mariners.
Quentin hasn't played since spraining the AC joint in his left shoulder while making a tumbling catch on Saturday. However, the White Sox are reluctant to place Quentin on the disabled list because it would rule him out for a series against the first-place Tigers from September 2-4. Alejandro De Aza has been playing right field during his absence, but one possible replacement in the minors is top prospect Dayan Viciedo. The Cuban defector is batting .298/.365/.488 with 19 homers and an .852 OPS over 499 plate appearances with Triple-A Charlotte this season.
