White Sox placed OF Carlos Quentin on the 15-day disabled list with a left shoulder sprain. Quentin suffered the sprain last Saturday while making a tumbling catch in the outfield and made no significant progress this week. The move was made retroactive to August 21, but he's likely to need a full 15 days of recovery time anyway. The 28-year-old has posted an .842 OPS and 24 home runs in 117 games this season.
