Carrasco gave up 10 hits but just one earned run and struck out 10 over 5.1 innings of a no-decision against the Tigers on Tuesday.
What a stat line for Carrasco, who performed the rare feat of reaching double-digits in punchouts and hits allowed in the same outing. His record remains at 6-4 through 35 appearances (nine starts) this season, while his ERA dropped to 2.94 to go with a 1.06 WHIP. Carrasco will face the White Sox in his next start Sunday.

Carrasco tossed 6.2 strong innings against the White Sox on Thursday, giving up just one run and four hits while striking out seven batters.
Carrasco was in control for most of his outing, recording four 1-2-3 innings. He has performed well since returning to the rotation, allowing just two runs, with a fantastic 24:3 K:BB ratio in his last 24.2 innings. He's probably earned a spot for the rest of the season, and he'll toe the rubber against Detroit at home in his next start.

Carrasco struck out five and gave up three hits over seven shutout innings against the Orioles on Saturday night to earn his fifth win of the season.
With consecutive scoreless starts, Carrasco has pushed his ERA down to 3.27 for the season. After spending time in the bullpen, Carrasco may be turning a corner, as he's compiled a 71:18 K:BB over 77 innings (six starts, 26 relief appearances) this season.

Carrasco threw five shutout innings to beat the Yankees on Sunday. He allowed two hits while striking out four with no walks. After the game, the Indians said that Carrasco would remain in the rotation for the time being.
Carrasco needed Justin Masterson to get dealt, and for Zach McAllister and Josh Tomlin to fall apart to earn this shot, but the Indians also said that they've still wanted him to be a starter if possible. "I don't think it was a case of buying a start," Indians manager Terry Francona said. "I think we want to see him start."

Carrasco was officially named the starter for Sunday's game against the Yankees, MLB.com reports.
Carrasco will get a chance to see if he can take his recent performances in a relief role to the mound with him as a starter. The Indians have three off days in a span of eight days following Carrasco's start Sunday so it remains to be seen just how they plan on slotting Carrasco after his start.

Carrasco, who threw 59 pitches in relief of Josh Tomlin on Tuesday, may be in line to replace the struggling Tomlin in the starting rotation, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Carrasco wasn't great Tuesday, allowing three runs on six hits in four innings as he tired down the stretch, and has enjoyed much more success as a reliever this season but the Indians could decide to take advantage of a favorable schedule to give Carrasco a shot. The Indians will have Corey Kluber pitching Saturday and an off day Monday so could afford a short outing from Carrasco.

The Indians have moved Carlos Carrasco to the bullpen.
Carrasco has posted a rough 6.95 ERA through four appearances this season, so the Indians have decided to make a change. He can't be sent to the minors without being exposed to waivers, so the hope is that he will provide some value as a reliever. The Indians will use Zach McAllister on three days' rest on Wednesday, but Trevor Bauer or Josh Tomlin will likely be called up to fill Carrasco's spot in the rotation next Tuesday. It would be a good idea to stash Bauer in mixed fantasy leagues.

Carlos Carrasco surrendered four runs in six innings Friday in a loss to the Giants.
Expect more calls for Trevor Bauer over the next few days. Carrasco was pretty good tonight after a shaky start that saw him give up a single and a triple to the first two batters he faced -- he allowed just three more hits, walked one and struck out six -- but it wasn't enough to prevent him from dropping to 0-3. Even if he keeps his rotation spot now, he won't be able to afford another mediocre outing next time out.

Indians manager Terry Francona indicated Monday that he's not ready to remove Carlos Carrasco from the rotation.
Carrasco gave up four runs in 5 2/3 innings Sunday against the Blue Jays, but Francona said he didn't view it as a make-or-break start. Still, it's clear he needs to turn things around soon, especially with Trevor Bauer impressing in the minors.
