Carrasco (jaw) will switch spots with Trevor Bauer in the rotation and instead start Tuesday agains the White Sox, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.
Carrasco's start had already been pushed back a day, but this time around it will likely cost him a two-start week. He continues to make steady progress after being hit in the head with a comebacker Tuesday, but it makes sense to see the Indians take a conservative approach considering the nature of the injury. Trevor Bauer will take his spot in Monday's series opener.

Carrasco (jaw) completed a 35-pitch bullpen session Friday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Pitching coach Mickey Callaway was pleased with how the session went, saying Carrasco looked and felt fine just days after being hit the jaw by a comebacker. Carrasco is still dealing with some soreness, but it's mostly when he's eating. He appears good to go for his next start, Monday opposite John Danks at U.S. Cellular Field.

The Indians announced Wednesday that Carrasco is dealing with soreness on both sides of his jaw and will have his next start pushed back one day.
While Carrasco is dealing with some pain in his mouth, he appears to have escaped what could have been a far more serious injury. Barring any setbacks before his next outing, Carrasco's next start will come Monday against the White Sox in Chicago.

Carrasco is being treated for a jaw contusion and does not have concussion symptoms, the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Zack Meisel reports.
This is a good early report on the electric right-hander, who was carted off Tuesday after a comebacker hit his jaw and knocked him down. It seemed like the ball glanced his wrist before hitting his face, which may have helped lessen the blow. The fact that Carrasco appears to have avoided a concussion should lend optimism to the notion that he may not have to miss a start and he should at least be able to avoid the DL if the initial diagnosis is accurate.

Carrasco was carted off the field Tuesday after being struck in the head by a comebacker off the bat of Melky Cabrera, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
A scary scene unfolded in Cleveland, with Carrasco being hit in the first inning and immediately going to the ground. Eventually, he stood up with the help of a couple trainers, but he was holding the left side of his face as he exited the field on the cart. Expect the team to provide an update on his condition before the end of Tuesday's game.

Carrasco agreed to a four-year extension with the Indians on Sunday, Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Carrasco's new deal, effective in 2016, will cover two arbitration years, two of his upcoming free agency years, and grant the club options on two more years following that. The 28-year-old had a strong 2014 campaign in Cleveland, tossing 134 innings that resulted in an 8-7 record, 2.55 ERA and MLB career-best 9.4 K/9. He's expected to follow 2014 Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber in the rotation, and will now be a mainstay in that group for several years to come.
