Carlos Carrasco was knocked around again but escaped with a no-decision Sunday, giving up four runs over 5 2/3 frames in a 6-4 win over the Blue Jays.
Carrasco whiffed five but permitted six hits and walked three, throwing 88 pitches over 5 2/3 innings. With a 7.31 ERA and 1.69 WHIP through his first three starts, Carrasco is going to have to shape up in a hurry to avoid getting booted from the rotation. He'll try to bounce back next weekend in San Francisco.

Carlos Carrasco will have his next start pushed back until Saturday against the Blue Jays.
He had been on track to work against the Tigers in Detroit on Thursday, but will be given a couple extra days of rest. He will be available out of the Tribe's bullpen for their three-game set against the Tigers.

Carlos Carrasco was tagged for five runs over 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the White Sox on Friday.
Carrasco struck out three batters in the first inning and retired the side in order in the second, but he unraveled from there. All told, he gave up six hits and three walks while notching five strikeouts. We figure he'll get a few more starts, but the Indians might consider bringing up Trevor Bauer if he continues to struggle. It's worth noting that Carrasco is out of options, so they can't send him to the minors without exposing him to waivers.

Carlos Carrasco has won the fifth spot in the Indians' rotation.
Carrasco got the nod over Josh Tomlin, who will begin the season in the minors. The 26-year-old has posted a 5.17 ERA over five appearances this season, but he has an impressive 16/3 K/BB ratio in 15 2/3 innings. While he hasn't progressed as hoped, he'll be worth owning in AL-only fantasy leagues.

Carlos Carrasco dazzled in Friday's Cactus League victory over the Cubs, racking up six strikeouts in three innings of work.
The 26-year-old allowed just a pair of unearned runs on three hits. He's positioned himself well in the battle to secure the final spot in the team's Opening Day rotation, and is worth a flier in the later rounds of mixed league drafts.

Jordan Bastian of MLB.com believes that Carlos Carrasco is the favorite to win the fifth and final spot in the Indians rotation out of spring training.
His primary competition for that job will come from Shaun Marcum and Trevor Bauer. Indians skipper Terry Francona has spoken fondly of the 26-year-old this winter, and he's out of minor league options, so it would appear that he's a lock to break camp with the Tribe. That could conceivably be in the bullpen though if Marcum can prove his health, or Bauer can display solid command of the strike zone.

According to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com, Carlos Carrasco would prefer to start in 2014, but would work out of the bullpen if it was in the best interest of the team.
The 26-year-old right-hander is reportedly in great shape and has shed 15 pounds already this offseason. He struggled to the tune of a 6.75 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 30/18 K/BB ratio over 46 2/3 innings with the Indians in 2013, but still possesses a dazzling repertoire and has immense potential.

Carlos Carrasco will not qualify for arbitration this winter.
Carrasco ended up falling six days shy of earning Super Two status. This means that he is on track to be arbitration-eligible for the first time after the 2014 season. The 26-year-old posted an ugly 6.75 ERA and 30/18 K/BB ratio over 46 2/3 innings with the big club this year.
