Carrasco, who threw 59 pitches in relief of Josh Tomlin on Tuesday, may be in line to replace the struggling Tomlin in the starting rotation, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Carrasco wasn't great Tuesday, allowing three runs on six hits in four innings as he tired down the stretch, and has enjoyed much more success as a reliever this season but the Indians could decide to take advantage of a favorable schedule to give Carrasco a shot. The Indians will have Corey Kluber pitching Saturday and an off day Monday so could afford a short outing from Carrasco.
