Tim Thomas is now in a three-way tie for the most shutouts in the NHL with four.
After yesterday's shutout against Philadelphia, Thomas is now tied for the league lead with Jonathan Quick and Brian Elliot with four. ''He was good. He stood tall. He stood in the battle and made some big saves. He never gave them a chance to get any life,'' said coach Claude Julien. Thomas has a 1.83 GAA and a .943 save percentage as well as 15 wins on the season. He is the front runner to win the Vezina Trophy again this season.

Tim Thomas is the probable goaltender for the Bruins Saturday afternoon.
Thomas, like his probable opponent Ilya Bryzgalov, is just one win away from his 15th of the season. Thomas is coming off of a 47-save effort against the Senators on Wednesday.

Tim Thomas blocked an astounding 47 of 49 shots to spark the Boston Bruins to a 5-2 triumph over the Senators in Ottawa Wednesday night.
Every Senator had at least one shot in this game, but only Jason Spezza and Daniel Alfredsson could put the puck past Thomas. Tuukka Rask, who serves as the backup to Thomas, recorded a marvelous 41-save, 3-0 shutout over the Los Angeles Kings Tuesday night but Thomas probably was even more impressive Wednesday night as he made amends for a so-so performance against Columbus last Saturday night, when he was pulled and replaced by Rask after two periods with the game tied 3-3. Rask didn't allow a goal in the third period before the Bruins prevailed 5-3 in that one.

With Thursday's lost, Tim Thomas' career-high 10-game winning streak has come to an end.
Given that Thomas stopped 28 of 29 shots in the contest, we can hardly call it his fault. Thomas has a 1.83 GAA and .941 save percentage in 19 games this season and, given that it's Thomas, we don't see those numbers sliding significantly as the season goes on.

Tim Thomas allowed one goal on 29 shots in the Bruins' 2-0 loss to the Florida Panthers Thursday night.
With the loss tonight, Thomas now has a 13-5-0 record on the season. Thomas has picked up where he left off a year ago, after a sluggish start to the season, to rejoin the league's elite netminders. He is the frontrunner for the Vezina Trophy once again this season.

Tim Thomas allowed only one goal on 46 shots in the Bruins' 3-1 victory over the Penguins Monday night.
The Boston Bruins haven't lost a game in regulation time since October 29th and improve to 14-0-1 in their last 15 games. With the win tonight, Thomas now has a 13-4-2 record on the season and the Bruins are now within a point of the Penguins atop the Eastern Conference. Thomas is the early favorite for the Vezina Trophy. Tuukka Rask will probably get the nod for Boston in the second game of the team's back-to-back set in Winnipeg on Tuesday.

Tim Thomas will likely be between the pipes for Boston on Monday night against Pittsburgh.
It should be an exciting meeting between arguably the two best teams in the Eastern Conference. Backup netminder Tuukka Rask will probably get the nod for Boston in the second game of the team's back-to-back set in Winnipeg on Tuesday. We'll let you know if changes to this rotation occur, but it seems like a safe bet.
