Tim Thomas blocked an astounding 47 of 49 shots to spark the Boston Bruins to a 5-2 triumph over the Senators in Ottawa Wednesday night. Every Senator had at least one shot in this game, but only Jason Spezza and Daniel Alfredsson could put the puck past Thomas. Tuukka Rask, who serves as the backup to Thomas, recorded a marvelous 41-save, 3-0 shutout over the Los Angeles Kings Tuesday night but Thomas probably was even more impressive Wednesday night as he made amends for a so-so performance against Columbus last Saturday night, when he was pulled and replaced by Rask after two periods with the game tied 3-3. Rask didn't allow a goal in the third period before the Bruins prevailed 5-3 in that one.
