John Gibson will start in his second straight game on Wednesday.
Gibson is being rewarded for shutting out the Vancouver Canucks in his NHL debut. It's worth keeping an eye on him, because he might end up on the Ducks' roster next season if they don't re-sign Jonas Hiller.

John Gibson became the youngest goaltender in NHL history to record a shutout in his NHL debut Monday.
Gibson was 20 years, 207 days old, beating Darren Puppa's record set in 1985 while playing for the Sabres, by 16 days. Gibson is the best goaltending prospect in hockey and a top-three overall prospect regardless of position. His outstanding potential may allow the Ducks to let Jonas Hiller become a UFA at the end of the season and give the Ducks a Gibson-Fredrik Andersen goaltending duo going into the 2014-15 season.

John Gibson stopped all 18 shots he faced in Anaheim's 3-0 win over Vancouver Monday evening.
Gibson, a highly-touted prospect in his first pro season, got the start after No. 1 goalie Jonas Hiller struggled in a 4-2 loss against the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday, and backup Frederik Andersen was injured by a shot off his mask on Friday. It was a dream start for Gibson's NHL career, but it is likely that Hiller will be between the pipes on Wednesday as the Ducks will play against the Sharks.

John Gibson might make his NHL debut on Monday.
Gibson was called up to fill in for the injured Fredrik Andersen. Jonas Hiller played between the pipes on Sunday and Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau pointed out that the Ducks don't usually ask the same goalie to start on back-to-back days. "We certainly want to see Gibson. . We have all the faith in him in the world," Boudreau said. "We think he's going to just be a superstar. But at the same time, it's his first year." Gibson has a 2.34 GAA and .919 save percentage in 45 AHL games this season.

The Anaheim Ducks have recalled goaltender John Gibson from Norfolk of the AHL.
The recall was necessitated by the injury on Friday night to Fredrik Andersen. Andersen is expected to miss at least a couple of games and Gibson could be in line for at least one start as regular netminder Jonas Hiller has been struggling of late. Gibson is the top goaltending prospect in hockey and could be given a shot to start as early as next season in the Ducks net.

John Gilson was sent back to Norfolk of the AHL.
Gibson was recalled a few days ago when practicing resumed in the NHL as the Ducks regular goalie Jonas Hiller was not yet back from participating in the Olympic Games. He has a chance to make the Ducks or even start next season as Anaheim still has to decide if he is ready and whether or not to re-sign Jonas Hiller.

John Gibson has been sent down to the minors.
Jonas Hiller has recovered from an illness, so the Ducks needed to send down a netminder. Gibson has plenty of potential, but it might take a few seasons for him to establish himself in the NHL.

John Gibson may make his first career NHL start Sunday at home against the Red Wings.
Jonas Hiller is between the pipes Saturday, and coach Bruce Boudreau left open the chance of the 20-year-old getting a start tomorrow. "I guess a lot depends on Hiller too," Boudreau said. "Let's see how he feels tonight after the game. Five o'clock game tomorrow. Might even see Gibson in that game. Who knows?" Gibson said he is taking it "day by day" and will be ready when his chance comes. He has a 2.61 goals-against average and .915 save percentage in the AHL this season.

Anaheim has promoted John Gibson.
Gibson will serve as Jonas Hiller's understudy for the time being. Gibson has a lot of potential, but he won't have much, if any, fantasy value in the second half of the 2013-14 campaign.
