The Canucks have placed Markstrom on waivers, News 1130 reports.
Markstrom, who was traded to the Canucks alongside Shawn Matthias in exchange for Roberto Luongo at the 2014 trade deadline, dropped on the Canucks' depth chart following the team's offseason signing of veteran Ryan Miller. Markstrom was the clear man out, with promising youngster Eddie lack primed to take over Canucks' starting duties in the future. Markstrom, the 24-year-old Swedish prospect, went 1-2-0 in four appearances with the Canucks in 2013-14, recording a .868 save percentage and 3.00 GAA. It's likely a team takes a gamble and picks him up off waivers.

Jacob Markstrom has denied a recent report that he requested a trade after the Canucks signed Ryan Miller.
Vancouver might try to trade Markstrom regardless because he's set to come with a $1.2 million cap hit in 2014-15 despite the fact that he's currently projected to be the team's third goaltender. If he does stay in Vancouver then he'll have a hard time getting starts against Miller and Eddie Lack.

Jacob Markstrom has requested a trade out of Vancouver, according to Jason Botchford of The Province.
Markstrom sees the writing on the wall with Ryan Miller being signed and Eddie Lack the likely backup. The Canucks have explored trades and there are interest from three teams. "That situation could work itself out over the summer," general manager Jim Benning said. "The teams that are interested may have to move out another guy. . We're exploring that for Jacob. But if that doesn't happen, Jacob comes to camp. He has a good attitude. He understands the situation. . Look at Minnesota last year. They went through about five goalies." Markstrom carries a $1.2 million cap hit. He had a .918 save percentage in 29 games in the AHL last year, and a .873 save percentage in 16 games in the NHL.

Goalie Jacob Markstrom had a decent night Sunday to help the Vancouver Canucks trounce the visiting Calgary Flames 5-1 in the season finale for both teams.
Markstrom stopped 22 shots in the lopsided contest. This came after a forgettable night Saturday in which he could only make 17 saves in a 5-2 loss to the Oilers in Edmonton. Markstrom, obtained by the Canucks earlier in the season from the Florida Panthers, finishes the season with a record of 2-8-3.

Goalie Jacob Markstrom, making his second start for the Vancouver Canucks, had a rough outing Saturday night in a 5-2 loss to the Oilers in Edmonton.
Markstrom could make only 17 saves. His season numbers don't look so hot, either. Markstrom, who was traded to the Oilers in March from the Florida Panthers, is 1-8-3, with a GAA of 3.58 and a save percentage of .867. He's likely done for the regular season now as Eddie Lack likely will draw the assignment of tending net for the Canucks in their regular-season finale against the Flames in Vancouver Sunday. This has, of course, been a terrible season for the Canucks in general. They were eliminated from playoff contention a while ago and there's strong speculation that John Tortorella will be fired as coach as early as Monday after only one year with the Canucks.

Jacob Markstrom will get his second start with Vancouver on Saturday.
He permitted three goals in a 4-2 loss to Colorado on Thursday in his last outing. The Canucks conclude a disappointing regular season with a game Sunday night against Calgary and Eddie Lack could be between the pipes for that contest.

Jacob Markstrom allowed three goals on 27 shots in Vancouver's 4-2 loss to Colorado Thursday night.
It was Markstrom's first NHL start since Dec. 20, but the promising 6-foot-6 Swedish goaltender is still looking for his first NHL win since Oct. 11. It was his first start for the Canucks also. The Canucks have two games left and it is probable that Markstrom will start one of those games at least.

Look for Jacob Markstrom to get the start in goal for Vancouver on Thursday.
It will be Markstrom's first start in goal for Vancouver since he was dealt at the trade deadline on March 4 as the Canucks have been using Eddie Lack. But the Canucks were eliminated from playoff contention Monday and there is no reason to keep Markstrom on the bench. Adjust your lineup accordingly.

The Vancouver Canucks have acquired Jacob Markstrom and Shawn Matthias from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Roberto Luongo and Steven Anthony.
Markstrom was seen as the Panthers' goaltender of the future, but he struggled mightily in the shortened campaign with a 3.22 GAA and .901 save percentage. He bounced between Florida and AHL San Antonio this season and never really found any success at the NHL level. Still, he's just 24 years old and should compete with Eddie Lack for the starting job in Vancouver.

Jacob Markstrom has been sent to the AHL.
Markstrom entered the season with a chance of earning the Panthers' starting job, but things have gone terribly for him. He has a 3.52 GAA and .874 save percentage in 12 games this season.
