Goalie Jacob Markstrom, making his second start for the Vancouver Canucks, had a rough outing Saturday night in a 5-2 loss to the Oilers in Edmonton.
Markstrom could make only 17 saves. His season numbers don't look so hot, either. Markstrom, who was traded to the Oilers in March from the Florida Panthers, is 1-8-3, with a GAA of 3.58 and a save percentage of .867. He's likely done for the regular season now as Eddie Lack likely will draw the assignment of tending net for the Canucks in their regular-season finale against the Flames in Vancouver Sunday. This has, of course, been a terrible season for the Canucks in general. They were eliminated from playoff contention a while ago and there's strong speculation that John Tortorella will be fired as coach as early as Monday after only one year with the Canucks.
