Gabriel Landeskog, Matt Duchene, and P.A. Parenteau are still working on developing some on-ice chemistry as the Colorado Avalanche's top line.
"(O'Reilly) and I had a lot of chemistry together. We just kind of worked hard and kept it simple. With me and Dutchy and P.A, it's a little different," Landeskog said. "They're two different players. They're both extremely skilled, so I'm trying to do the dirty work and try to work it down low as much as possible. It's going to take some time, but they're such good players, it shouldn't be that hard." It shouldn't take too long before the trio starts to gel. That being said, if the Avalanche ink restricted free agent Ryan O'Reilly in the near future, then the team's top line will probably get broken up.

Gabriel Landeskog buried home his first goal of the season in Colorado's 3-1 victory over the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday evening.
The 20-year-old captain broke the scoresheet for the first time in the early season. Landeskog also finished a plus-2 on the game. Landeskog is coming off a Calder Trophy winning season, so it's only a matter of time before he hits his stride. He is adjusting to some new teammates, including P.A. Parenteau, who also tallied his first goal of the season and his first as a member of the Avs on Tuesday.

Gabriel Landeskog will make his debut as the Colorado Avalanche's team captain on Saturday.
Landeskog is entering his second season and only turned 20 in November. "C or no C, doesn't matter. He was a leader last year as an 18-year-old," said Giguere. "He's going to be a leader, no matter what, just by the way he works and the way he carries himself. But he's still (20), and from time to time he might need some help from the old geezers." Milan Hejduk, 36, decided to give up the captaincy last summer to help the team's transition to it's next generation.

Gabriel Landeskog has apparently left Swedish team Djugardens.
He enjoyed a great send-off contest, with a three-point effort, in a 3-0 win over Almtuna on Monday. According to Swedish reports, Landeskog is leaving partially because of tax reasons. There's also some speculation that he may return to Kitchener of the OHL to continue training and possible try his hand at coaching.

Gabriel Landeskog and Patric Hornqvist generated two points apiece to help Djugardens defeat Asplven 4-3 on Saturday.
Hornqvist had a goal and assist while 2012 Calder Trophy winner Landeskog collected two helpers. The Colorado Avalanche must be pleased to see Landeskog back up to speed weeks after he took a puck to the head during practice.

Gabriel Landeskog was reportedly struck in the head by the puck during a practice with Djurgardens of the Swedish Allvenskan League.
Landeskog needed stitches and, more concerning, is suffering from headaches. Despite that, he thinks he'll be fine to play in Djurgardens' next game. Hopefully Landeskog's right and it doesn't turn out that he has a concussion.

Gabriel Landeskog reportedly broke a pane of glass in frustration after his Swedish team, Djurgardens, sank even further in the standings.
Djurgardens was at ninth place at the time in the HockeyAllsvenskan, which is the second highest tier of Swedish hockey. Landeskog was sorry for his actions. When Landeskog left Djurgardens to first play in North America, his team was part of the Swedish Elite League. However, they slipped during his absence and were relegated to the second tier league. So far Landeskog's return during the lockout hasn't been enough to get them back on track to re-enter the Swedish Elite League.

Colorado Avalanche captain Garbriel Landeskog is playing hockey for Djurgardens but is frustrated that his sophomore season with the Avs is on hold because of the NHL lockout.
"We had a long offseason and we really want to get back to take the next step that we know we can take," Landeskog said. "I think everybody was really excited to get back at it. That makes this lockout so frustrating for us." The Avs have 22 players signed, at a payroll of just more than $54 million. Still unsigned is center Ryan O'Reilly, whose agent, Mark Guy, said negotiations would not resume with the team until the lockout is over.
