Gabriel Landeskog (head) has been activated off of the injured reserve list.
Landeskog was already probable for Saturday's game and now it looks like a near certainty that he'll play. He ended up missing nearly a month with what was probably a concussion. Look for him to serve on a line with Paul Stastny and David Jones.

Gabriel Landeskog (head) is hoping to return on Saturday.
Landeskog was able to fully participate in Friday's practice. "I'm finally back," Landeskog said. "It feels good. Today was the first (full) practice with the guys. Finally I get out of that pumpkin jersey." Landeskog is projected to play alongside Paul Stastny and David Jones.

Gabriel Landeskog (head) says he will not change the way he plays his game when he returns to action.
Landeskog has suffered a hit to his head in each of his two NHL seasons thus far. "I'm still the same player. Going to approach the game exactly the same way, still be just as physical as I ever was," Landeskog said. While that may be good for his fantasy owners, it could cause Landeskog to have a shortened career in the NHL. He may be ready to participate in a full practice by Monday and if so, he may only be a few days away from returning to the lineup as he has skated for six straight days.

Gabriel Landeskog spoke to the media Wednesday and said he is feeling much better in his recovery from a concussion.
"It's been feeling better and better," Landeskog said. "The hands aren't quite there yet and the feet aren't quite there, but I'm working on it and feeling better every day." He added: "My memory was fine, no nausea, dizziness. There was some light sensitivity though, and some headaches and pressure on the head. But I'm feeling a lot better. It's been tough sitting out. But you only have one brain, you've got to take care of it." Wednesday morning was the sixth straight day he skated and he might be ready to participate in a full-contact session by Friday.

Gabriel Landeskog practiced with his Colorado Avalanche teammates for the first time since suffering a head injury in late January.
Landeskog was wearing an orange no-contact jersey Tuesday, but it's good to see him progressing after skating on his own for the past few days. There's still no timetable on Landeskog's return, but it's possible he could be cleared for contact by the end of the week. Stay tuned.

Gabriel Landeskog (head) continues to skate and could rejoin his Avalanche teammates later in the week.
Although the Avs refuse to say it was a concussion, Landeskog has now sat out 10 games with the head injury. He has been skating for the last four days so all the signs are pointing upwards for a return to action in the near future. Stay tuned.

Landeskog stayed in Colorado while the Avalanche traveled to Edmonton for Saturday's game. This is the first major sign that Landeskog is making progress, but we don't expect him to return anytime soon.

Gabriel Landeskog (head) didn't travel with the Colorado Avalanche to Minnesota for Thursday's game.
It's probably safe to assume that Landeskog will also miss Saturday's contest in Edmonton. He hasn't played since Jan. 26 and remains out indefinitely.
