As expected, Andersen led the Ducks onto the ice Tuesday and will be the starter in goal against the Flyers, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
After John Gibson surrendered six goals in the Ducks' season-opening loss, Andersen has guided the team to victories in their last two games. He's saved 35 of 38 shots (.927 save percentage) over the two outings and should make for a respectable option against the winless Flyers.

Andersen was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and is expected to make the start Tuesday versus the Flyers, NHL.com's Adam Kimelman reports.
Coach Bruce Boudreau was generally expected to alternate the starts between Andersen and John Gibson to open the season, but this would mark three straight outings for Andersen if he is in fact given the nod. Though he was in goal for three periods Monday against Buffalo, Andersen didn't exactly have to exert himself, with the Sabres only mustering 12 shot attempts on the afternoon. After Gibson was bombed for six goals in the opener, Andersen has been steady in two turns (2-0-0, 1.50 GAA, .927) giving him the inside track on settling in as the Ducks' No. 1 goalie.

Andersen earned the win as Anaheim beat Buffalo 5-1.
Andersen was not busy as he only faced 12 shots, stopping 11, as his offense potted five goals to help him secure his second win of the season. Andersen seems to have the edge as the number one netminder, although backup John Gibson will continue to get starts.

Andersen made 27 saves and looked strong in Saturday's 3-2 win over Detroit.
It was his first start of the season and stated a strong case for more of them, especially after the season opener was handed to John Gibson. The starter's job is still up for grabs, but it might not be for long if Andersen keeps this kind of effort up.

Andersen will be in goal Saturday against the Red Wings, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Despite outplaying John Gibson in the preseason, Andersen was bypassed for the opening night nod, but the No. 1 goalie job still looks like it's up for grabs. Gibson was extremely flat Thursday against the Penguins, surrendering six goals on 39 shots in the loss. With a steady outing Saturday, it's possible Andersen could leap Gibson on the Ducks' depth chart.

Andersen was stellar, making 27 saves to shutout the Avalanche in the Ducks first game of the preseason.
Andersen helped his case for opening the season as the No. 1 netminder, although this is one goaltending battle we will be monitoring closely. John Gibson will get his shot to impress the coaching staff as well, after posting incredible numbers in last season's postseason.

Andersen (knee) will likely be the Ducks' No. 1 goalie when training camp opens, NHL.com's Curtis Zupke reports.
Both Andersen and fellow competitor for No. 1 duties John Gibson ended up surpassing incumbent Jonas Hiller on the depth chart for the Ducks during the postseason, but it was Andersen's MCL sprain in Round 2 against the Kings that allowed Gibson to leave the last impression. However, Andersen was nearly as good as Gibson over a much larger sample of starts last season, going 20-5-0 with a 2.29 GAA and .923 save percentage. The greater amount of experience confers an early advantage to Andersen in the job battle, but whomever opens the season as the No. 1 goalie will largely earn the gig based on training camp performance.

Frederik Andersen's lower body injury was a sprained MCL.
Andersen was close to recovering when the Ducks were eliminated, so he might have been available for the Western Conference Final. He might end up competing with John Gibson for the starting job in 2014-15, but we wouldn't rule out the possibility of the Ducks signing a veteran goaltender to a short-term contract.

Frederik Andersen (lower body) won't be available on Wednesday.
Andersen will also miss Game 7 of the second round if there is one. Ducks rookie goaltender John Gibson has been great in Andersen's absence and the Ducks still have Jonas Hiller if Gibson falters, so this isn't dire news for Anaheim.
