Adding to speculation that Jeremy Lin is Houston bound, former Knick Jared Jeffries said on ESPN radio that he believes the Knicks will not match the Rockets offer sheet.
Jeffries was just moved to Portland as part of the Raymond Felton sign-and-trade so his opinion has to be taken with a grain of salt but with Jason Kidd and now Felton on board, the Knicks could feel comfortable enough to part with their once prized asset.

There is increasing speculation that the Knicks will not match the Rockets' offer sheet for Jeremy Lin, believed to be worth $25.1 million over three years.
New York currently has Raymond Felton and Jason Kidd at point guard, leaving precious little room for Lin. Marc Berman of the NY Post cites sources who say the Knicks won't match, in spite of his untold marketing allure, and it's possible that the free-spending Knicks actually want to avoid major luxury taxes in 2014-15 (the so-called 'poison pill' in the Rockets' back-loaded offer, courtesy of the CBA's Gilbert Arenas provision). The situation continues to evolve, so stay tuned.

Sources have told David Aldridge that Jeremy Lin has officially signed a three-year, $25.1 million offer sheet with the Rockets.
The contract to Lin is for $5 million in year one, $5.225 million in year two and $14.898 million in year three. The Rockets had hoped that the huge number in year three would discourage the Knicks from matching the offer, but Mike Woodson has already gone on record saying that Lin will be his starting PG next season. The only suspense here is if New York takes the full three days to officially match the deal to potentially keep Houston in limbo on a few of their other free agent and/or trade targets.

Mike Woodson said on Wednesday that Jeremy Lin is the starting point guard for the Knicks, meaning Jason Kidd will come off the bench, and that the Knicks will match the Rockets' offer sheet.
They could still have a training camp battle and Lin will need to play well to hold the job, but for now, go ahead and pencil him in as the starter. He should be worth a late mid-round fantasy pick, as Kidd will eat into his minutes as a reserve.

The Knicks will be matching the Rockets' offer to restricted free agent Jeremy Lin, sources confirm to ESPN.com.
Lin will sign a backloaded deal with the Rockets worth roughly $30 million on Wednesday. At that point, the Knicks will have three days to make a decision. "They will match any offer on Lin up to 1 billion dollars," a source told ESPN.com. Jason Kidd is expected to mentor Lin in New York.

The Knicks appear to be locked in on matching restricted free agent Jeremy Lin's offer from Houston when the moratorium ends on Wednesday.
The question now isn't whether the Knicks are going to retain Lin, but who will start at point guard. Kidd is being brought in to mentor Lin, but is also still a starting NBA point guard. Coach Mike Woodson promised Lin a starting gig next season when they met over the summer, but with Kidd on hand now, it's anyone's guess who will win the job. Either way, Lin should still see plenty of minutes, as Kidd's 39-year-old knees can only take so much.

The Rockets signed Jeremy Lin to a 3-year term sheet on Thursday, including a team option for the fourth year, but early on it appears as if the Knicks will match the backloaded deal.
That's at least what Adrian Wojnarowski wrote as news of the deal broke, and it's consistent with everything we've heard so far out of New York. It should be noted, however, that the Knicks did sign Jason Kidd earlier today. Most reporters have felt that Lin would stick around and start with Kidd backing him up, but it's possible New York's grab of Kidd was for more than just insurance.

The Rockets offered Jeremy Lin a four-year deal potentially worth $31 million, which includes the so-called "poison pill" (larger dollar amounts) in the third and fourth years that would create a luxury-tax hit for the Knicks.
After losing out on Steve Nash the Knicks are expected to match any offer sheet Lin signs, so he's weighing his options carefully. He's mulling this offer over, but could be waiting for a better one to come along in order to secure his future. But regardless of what happens next, it's hard to envision Lin playing for a team other than the Knicks this season.

The Rockets have reportedly made an offer to restricted FA Jeremy Lin and he is taking it into consideration.
If he does sign the offer sheet, the Knicks will be able to match it, and all indications are that they plan on doing so. Daryl Morey tweeted after the meeting that Lin "will be missed," meaning there's almost no chance Lin will accept the offer.

Now that Steve Nash has been traded to the Lakers, the Knicks are fully expected to match any offer to free agent PG Jeremy Lin.
Lin is still meeting with the Rockets late on Wednesday night and they appear to be set to come with a strong offer. But now that Nash is off the table, it appears that the Knicks will match, regardless of how much money it will cost them. There is still a chance the Knicks will go after a veteran like Jason Kidd, but the marketing appeal of Lin will likely keep him in New York, regardless.
