The Knicks appear to be locked in on matching restricted free agent Jeremy Lin's offer from Houston when the moratorium ends on Wednesday. The question now isn't whether the Knicks are going to retain Lin, but who will start at point guard. Kidd is being brought in to mentor Lin, but is also still a starting NBA point guard. Coach Mike Woodson promised Lin a starting gig next season when they met over the summer, but with Kidd on hand now, it's anyone's guess who will win the job. Either way, Lin should still see plenty of minutes, as Kidd's 39-year-old knees can only take so much.
