Sunday's performance should assure Whiteside a bigger role for the Heat. He's averaging 12.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in January but those numbers should increase moving forward.

He sprained his ankle early in Tuesday's contest, and it will force him to miss at least one game. It is not a third degree sprain, but Whiteside should be considered highly questionable for Friday's game against the Pacers.

Whiteside suffered a sprained right ankle Tuesday against the Thunder and is questionable to return. He was 5-for-5 from the field for a team-high 10 points in 11 minutes prior to exiting with the injury. Whiteside was coming off his worst game since his recent breakout, where he had just four points and one rebound in 15 minutes Friday, so it was good to see him playing well, and equally disappointing to see an injury potentially cut his night short. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Whiteside had his worst outing of the month Friday, playing only 15 minutes and finishing the game with four points (1-3 FG), one rebound, one assist, two blocks and a steal. Whiteside is certainly worth owning in standard leagues, but the brief slump is slightly concerning. He only has roughly six solid games to go off of, but this was just his second career start. In his past seven games, Whiteside has three double-doubles, and had shot 70 percent or better in five of them.
