After being a second round pick by the Kings after spending one excellent year at Marshall, the seven-footer nearly disappeared from the basketball landscape. He bounced from the D-league to China and is now the best fantasy asset on Miami. In his last five games, he is averaging 17.4 points, 15.8 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks.

Whiteside scored 11 points (5-12 FG, 1-2 FT) with 10 rebounds and five blocks in 24 minutes during Tuesday's loss to the Pistons. The beat goes on for the NBA's newest out-of-nowhere star, who has four double-doubles and 21 blocks in his last five games. Whiteside should see a little more offensive success on Wednesday against the lumbering Nik Pekovic and the Timberwolves.

Whiteside nearly double-doubled on Sunday scoring 20 points (10-17 FG, 1-5 3Pt), with nine rebounds, and three blocks in 30 minutes on Sunday. The Hassan Whiteside-era in Miami is real, and this is the first game he didn't double-double in since returning from an ankle injury. He's been a monster on the boards during this stretch, and averaged 3.4 blocks a game for the month of January. After returning top-50 value last month the sky's the limit for Whiteside going forward.

Since missing two games with an ankle injury, he's averaged 15.3 points, 17.7 rebounds and 4.3 blocks a game. Keep him in, as the breakout continues.

Whiteside followed up his triple-double on national TV with a double-double Tuesday in a loss to the Bucks, scoring 16 points (6-12 FG, 4-4 FT) and grabbing 16 boards. Whiteside briefly spent some time on the bench this month, but is clearly the starter now. He should be owned and started in every league. This month alone, Whiteside has five double-doubles and has had at least one block in all but three of his games.

Whiteside will start Tuesday's game against the Bucks, Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald reports. Whiteside has come off the bench behind Chris Andersen in each of the last three games, but after his triple-double on national TV on Sunday, coach Erik Spoelstra has made the call to insert him into the starting five. Whiteside had 14 points, 13 rebounds and 12 blocks Sunday and has six games with at least three blocks since joining the regular rotation at the end of December.
