Whiteside had a triple-double Sunday against the Bulls despite coming off the bench. He had 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 FT), 13 rebounds, and a franchise-record 12 blocks in just 25 minutes on the floor. Whiteside missed Friday's game with an ankle injury which also kept him out of the starting lineup against the Bulls, but that didn't stop him from having an incredible game. Sunday's performance should assure Whiteside a bigger role for the Heat. He's averaging 12.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in January but those numbers should increase moving forward.

now they need to trade Cole and Granger for a pg.

Classified12 Mon 1/26/15 7:53 PM

Nah man we like Cole in Miami. We need to trade 'Rio.

Whodeyman Mon 1/26/15 10:14 PM

yeah I live in Miami. Cole needs to go. Chalmers actually has some offensive game. Cole blows.

Classified12 Tue 1/27/15 11:03 AM

I also live in Miami, but I've never heard anyone besides you root for Chalmers over Cole. In fact, most of us were surprised when Miami decided to resign Chalmers.

Whodeyman Tue 1/27/15 10:09 PM

well coltrain not going to be on Heat next year might as well get something for him while you can. Rio 21 points 8 assists tonight against the Bucks. When's Cole going to put up those type of numbers?

Classified12 Mon 1/26/15 6:52 AM

Whiteside, baby!!!!!!!!!!! Love the fact we have this kid in Miami.

Whodeyman Mon 1/26/15 7:37 AM

Heat better sign this guy up long term fast. So happy he is on Miami.

12 blocks?!? I have been following NBA ball since Bill Russell, the Joneses, Tommy Heinson, John Havlicek and the crew used to dominate the league and not sure I ever recall anyone with 12 blocks in a single game! Russell or Chamberlain my have done it, but my old brain can't recall. Against the athletes and jumpers in the league today, it is hard to believe he did that in only 25 minutes.

12 blocks? In 25 minutes?

I have been following NBA ball since Bill Russell, Sam and K.C. Jones,Tom Heinson, John Havlicek, and the Celtic crew were dominating like no other team in pro sports ever has and am not sure I ever recall anyone with 12 blocks in a single game!

Russell or Chamberlain might have done it, but a starry-eyed kid with a flagging memory today can't recall.

Against the athletes and jumpers in the league today, it is even harder to believe the young fella did it off the bench in 25 minutes.

What I do believe though is having to wisdom to snap him up for six of my eight fantasy squads could be one of my greatest waiver wire coups ever, provided he stays relatively healthy.
