Andrew Bynum suggested at his exit interview that he will go see Dr. Peter Wehling in Germany this summer to explore the Orthokine procedure, the same one that was successfully performed on Kobe Bryant's knee last offseason.
This is pretty big news considering that Bynum has had multiple major injuries to his knees during his NBA career. Lakers trainer Gary Vitti said that he has talked to the same doctor that performed Kobe's procedure about a similar procedure with Bynum, although no procedures are confirmed as happening yet. Bynum had his one-year $16.1 million contract option picked up on Monday by the Lakers, but a long-term deal is still being discussed.

Andrew Bynum and the Lakers have "not yet engaged" in discussions about a long-term contract extension, a source tells ESPN Los Angeles.
Bynum officially had his $16.1 million contract option picked up by the team on Monday, and the Lakers have already said that they plan to have Bynum in the fold for a long time. Bynum's camp "anticipated" that talks on a long-term deal would ensue at some point in the offseason. Bynum had a career season with averages of 18.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks.

Jim Buss said that Andrew Bynum is an "incredible All-Star center and you can build the future around him."
Bynum's biggest advocate in the organization has always been Buss. He has shown a previous unwillingness to part with Bynum in a trade, and these comments reflect just how high Buss is on Bynum's future with the Lakers. Los Angeles will pick up Bynum's contract option for the coming season and is expected to begin extension talks at some point with Bynum's camp as well.

Mitch Kupchak said on Wednesday that the Lakers plan on picking up the option on Andrew Bynum's contract for next season.
This was a virtual given, although it's still possible the Lakers could trade the big man in an effort to make another run at a championship. Kupchak would not comment on Bynum's future with the team, other than the fact they'll pick up his option.

Andrew Bynum hopes to develop a jump shot this summer, and also mentioned that he'll look into the Orthokine therapy that improved Kobe Bryant's ailing knee.
Anything that improves the health of Bynum's knees would be great news for L.A. -- he missed six games in this shortened season, but had missed an average of 31.0 games over the past four (38 percent of the Lakers' games). It would also be huge if he developed the 15-18 foot jumper he talked about, but he already put up career numbers this year at 18.7 points, 11.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.

Andrew Bynum said "I'm not sure" when asked about his future with the Lakers.
The Lakers have a team option on Bynum for just over $16 million next season, but Los Angeles has already said they'll look into extending his contract. After averaging 18.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks during a breakout season, it's not going to be easy to come together on a new deal. Bynum also said that he would "definitely want to be a Laker," but acknowledged that it's up to the team and that he'll "play anywhere." The Lakers have until June 30 to exercise the option on Bynum's current contract.

Andrew Bynum was upset with his lack of involvement down the stretch in the Lakers' Game 4 loss on Saturday.
"I couldn't get the ball. I wasn't part of the game," Bynum said. "We need to slow down the game, go side to side. We can cut them to pieces. You can't keep running the same plays." This is partly Bynum venting after a loss, but it's also an indictment of Mike Brown's simplistic offense and the failure of Bynum's teammates to feed him the ball in the post.

Andre Bynum played solid in Game 2 against the Thunder on Wednesday, scoring 20 points to go along with nine rebounds.
Bynum was aggressive all night but the Thunder did a great job of denying him late and closed out the game on a 9-0 run to claim the win.

Andrew Bynum has been fined $15,000 for skipping an interview session with the media on Tuesday.
It's been an interesting season for Bynum in terms of how he's interacted with the media, and at this point, we're guessing he felt more comfortable not talking to anyone following the blowout Game 1 loss. He should be looking to prove a point in Game 2, especially if Kendrick Perkins (hip) is unable to play.

Andrew Bynum and Kobe Bryant each scored 20 points in Monday's embarrassing Game 1, 119-90 loss to the Thunder.
Bynum had 14 rebounds and a block, while Kobe hit just 7-of-18 shots to finish with three rebounds, two assists and a three in the loss. Bynum managed to stick around for the whole game, but remained on the bench with Pau Gasol afterward, presumably missing part (or all) of Mike Brown's postgame discussion. Game 2 is Wednesday in OKC.
