Andrew Bynum reportedly feels "very good" after having a non-invasive procedure performed on his knees in Germany last week. Bynum received a number of injections, a procedure similar to the PRP therapy that Kobe Bryant has championed, but he's already back in the U.S. and is ready to resume practicing immediately. It's not ideal that a 24-year-old athlete feels the need for preventive/restorative knee therapy, but Bynum only missed six games last year and he should be fully healthy for Philly's training camp.

The Sixers have named Tony DiLeo as the new GM, a source tells David Aldridge. The report has been confirmed by multiple outlets. DiLeo was viewed as the favorite for the job and this makes it official. Rod Thorn, who had been GM, will stay on as president for the time being.

Doug Collins said that he has "zero concern" about Andrew Bynum's maturity. Collins has been gushing about Bynum since the Sixers acquired him and it's not slowing down any time soon. The head coach confirmed that the Sixers will "play through the post" and Bynum is poised for a monster fantasy season as the top offensive option as long as he is able to stay on the court. Bynum averaged 18.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks on 55.8 percent shooting in a non-primary role last season.

Tony DiLeo has emerged as a candidate for the vacant 76ers GM job, a source tells the Philadelphia Inquirer. DiLeo, currently the senior vice president of basketball operations, is the newest name to be thrown into the mix. There is no timetable to hire a GM so we're not expecting any imminent announcement.

Sixers head coach Doug Collins has said that he thought that the team had "maxed out" last season and needed to go in a new direction. Andre Iguodala, Elton Brand and Jodie Meeks are gone and Andrew Bynum is in. Bynum is the new face of the franchise and while he has rings from his time as a Laker, his time is now to show that he is a true franchise player. If he can stay healthy -- which is admittedly a big if -- he should lead the team in scoring, rebounding and blocks and could end up as the top fantasy center in the NBA when it's all said and done. Bynum has said all the right things and we like him as a big-time breakout candidate this year.

Doug Collins is a candidate to become the next coach of the USA Olympic basketball program, replacing Mike Krzyzewski. Doc Rivers is also in the mix, but Gregg Popovich may be the favorite for the position. Collins said he was flattered just to be mentioned, adding, "It's four years down the road ... I am hoping that I am still active and I would like to coach four or five years in Philadelphia." He'll have his work cut out for him in 2012-13, as he incorporates Andrew Bynum, Jason Richardson and a host of new players.

The 76ers "are targeting" Rockets VP of Basketball Operations Sam Hinkie for their vacant GM position, according to SI's Sam Amick. Amick writes that Hinkie is "a leader in the league's analytics movement," and the team has received permission to speak with him. The current candidates to replace Rod Thorn include Mike Zarren, Jeff Bower and Tom Penn along with Hinkie.

The 76ers are "internally preparing" a contract extension offer for Andrew Bynum, according to Philly sportscaster Jeff Skversky. Skversky reports that the deal could be worth around $20 million per year, though he stresses that all talks are occurring in-house -- the Sixers and Bynum's camp "have not begun preliminary talks regarding an extension yet." Both sides seem very interested in securing a long-term deal, so don't be surprised if Bynum is the face of the franchise (and focal point of the team's gameplan) for many years.

Celtics assistant GM Mike Zarren is being considered for the 76ers' GM position, replacing outgoing Rod Thorn. Other candidates include Hornets assistant GM Jeff Bower and former Blazers assistant GM Tom Penn, though Penn's candidacy "has taken a serious hit" in recent days. Thorn is capably guiding the franchise until a replacement is found, so the Sixers are being thorough and patient in their search.

Andrew Bynum said that his knees felt "good" at his introductory press conference on Wednesday. "I went through the whole season last year and didn't have any setbacks," he said. "As of right now, my knees feel good." The "as of right now" remark has to have some fantasy owners cringing, but Bynum's upcoming procedure in Germany is actually non-surgical and is injection-based, designed to reduce inflammation. We're not bumping him down our big board and he has the chance to have a monster season now that he'll be the primary option with the Sixers.
