Andrew Bynum (knees) expects to practice in "a week or two."
This is the same guy who has been giving phony timetables throughout the season, so we're not inclined to take him at his word at this juncture. At this point, Bynum is out indefinitely until further notice and is still not playing 5-on-5. He's not expected to return until March, at the earliest.

Andrew Bynum (knees) did halfcourt drills and ran on an anti-gravity treadmill, but still has no timetable for return.
Doug Collins told Phillyburbs.com, "The question's going to be, at some point and time, of him getting out there. Right now, he has not done anything with contact." Jrue Holiday added, "I just want him to come back healthy, whether it's this year or next year." We've attached some video of his workout, but as usual there are more questions than answers for Bynum right now.

Andrew Bynum said he isn't sure if the latest pain in his left knee is normal soreness or a setback.
Bynum didn't have many answers when he met with the media Monday. All we know is that he's feeling some pain in his knee, hasn't been cleared to practice and has no idea when he'll return to action. He's previous said he'll need 10-14 days of practice before getting into a game. We'd be absolutely stunned if Bynum played in a game during the month of February.

Andrew Bynum has progressed to doing defensive slides, doing full-court work and dunking, but he's still not doing 1-on-1 workouts or playing 3-on-3, and there is no timetable for his return.
Bynum said on Monday that he's not sure if he'll be able to return in February, saying that he's "just not ready." The quote that should concern fantasy owners is the following: "I'm not really optimistic. When I get ont he court, that's when I'll be ready." This is the same guy who famously said that there is a bank in every city when rumored to be on the way out in Los Angeles, so we're not very optimistic that we'll see him anytime soon.

Andrew Bynum felt pain in his left knee after working out on Sunday, and he's uncertain if he'll be able to return in February.
In his latest clear-as-mud interview, Bynum admitted that he might have to play through pain and said that his left knee "is not ready yet." He has stated that he has arthritis in his knees, that he is missing cartilage which "is not going to regrow itself," and that the real test will be taking contact and cutting on his balky knees. There's sufficient reason for skepticism about his return, and Bynum's up-in-the-air return date makes Spencer Hawes and Lavoy Allen safer options.

Sixers GM Tony DiLeo said that Andrew Bynum (knees) is entering the "most critical part" of his rehab when he returns to practice.
"When he practices, bangs, jumps, moves - that's really the most critical part," DiLeo said. "We'll just have to see how he reacts during that phase." The Sixers have been in wait-and-see mode with Bynum all season, and there remains no timetable for Bynum to get back on the practice floor despite the big man saying he'd return around the All-Star break. Bynum is doing lateral movement and basketball drills, and for what it's worth, the big man thinks it will take around 10 days-two weeks once he starts practicing to be ready for a game. We're unlikely to see Bynum before the end of February, at the earliest. With Thaddeus Young (hamstring) out, Spencer Hawes is locked into a nice role right now.

The Rockets are reportedly prepared to pursue Dwight Howard or Andrew Bynum in free agency.
Houston has sniffed around Howard previously, so that's not a total shocker, but it would still be a surprise to see him leave the Lakers. The more interesting scenario is the Rockets potential pursuit of Bynum, who the Sixers could be hesitant to extend on a long-term deal depending on what happens with his knees the rest of the season. The Rockets are currently positioned to be prominent players in free agency.

Andrew Bynum (knees) confirmed that he's targeting a debut in February, but he did not sound very confident about his progress and stated that he still has issues with his left knee.
"February is the target, I guess," he said. Bynum previously said he planned to play around the All-Star break, but now the target date has changed to just sometime in February. However, the real interesting quote from Bynum is the following, "my doctor said it's just a fear of a big bone bruise, so I have to nurse it all the back up to playable conditions without pain or a setback." Bynum is progressing, but he's taking baby steps and there is no guarantee he won't have another setback along the way. Furthermore, Bynum said his latest round of Synvisc injections "didn't really help that much," adding that his left knee is still the problematic one. Bynum remains out indefinitely.

Andrew Bynum received Synvisc injections in both knees on Thursday, part of a scheduled step in his rehab.
Bynum can resume work on Sunday, and although there is no timetable for his return, the prevailing hope is that he will be able to play as early as February 20 after the All-Star break. Bynum is worth an add if he's still floating around on your waiver wire, but owners have to be prepared to gamble on his health.
