Andrew Bynum (knees) could return to practice next week and could debut as early as February 20 against the Timberwolves.
Bynum is taking "baby steps" as he looks to debut this year, but the Sixers won't bring him back until he's 100 percent ready to return. Bynum is wearing a protective brace on his right knee and a sleeve on his left, but he's dunking the basketball and doing low-post shooting drills at less than full speed. It's a slow process, but Bynum is moving in the right direction.

Andrew Bynum (knees) is uncertain when he will participate in a full practice.
Bynum is targeting a return "right after the All-Star break," but he's not sure when he'll practice. "I have no idea," he said when asked about practicing next week. Bynum is doing springs, but he's still not doing any slides on the court and he's going to have to show no ill effects from lateral movement before he's cleared to return.

Andrew Bynum (knees) feels as though his rehab is ahead of schedule, but he doesn't anticipate playing before the All-Star break.
Bynum could return to practice in the first week of February, and the increased activity will go a long way toward determining when he could return. If you can wait three more weeks before he steps on the court, go ahead and stash him.

Andrew Bynum (knees) "could be back before the All-Star break," a league source told the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Additionally, Bynum is reportedly "starting to move laterally," but it's not a lock that Bynum returns prior to the All-Star break. It's still too early to pinpoint a date for Bynum's return, and the Sixers have been tight-lipped with Bynum's progress considering all of his setbacks this season. Right now, it appears Bynum is tentatively targeting a return in mid-to-late February, but that is subject to change.

Andrew Bynum (knees) said that he hasn't done "any lateral movement" yet in his rehab.
Bynum has said that he's targeting a return around the All-Star break, but the fact that he hasn't done any lateral movement yet and is limited to just treadmill and on-court shooting is something owners have to keep in mind. Even Bynum said that lateral movement will be his "biggest test," as cutting is "the last thing to do" in his rehab. He can't afford to experience any setbacks when attempting the "explosive" work over the next couple of weeks.

Andrew Bynum says he isn't experiencing any pain in his knees and is on track to return during the All-Star break.
Bynum said he wants to step up his rehab but is wary of suffering any setbacks and we can't blame him for being careful. Step by step, Bynum is slowly progressing through the recovery process and things don't look so bleak all of a sudden. We're still very cautious about his troublesome knees and we advise you to be as well. Let's see how he moves along over the next 10-14 days before expressing anything beyond cautious optimism.

Andrew Bynum (knees) has progressed to stepping into his jumpers.
Previously, Bynum was just shooting stand-still shots. After Thursday's practice, he was getting some movement as well. Bynum continues to take baby steps as he aims for a mid-February return. "All you want is a chance, you want hope," coach Doug Collins said. "You are starting to get hope again."

Andrew Bynum (knee) was doing "some light running and shooting jumpers" on Thursday.
Bynum had a brace on his right knee, and while he's targeting a mid-February return, it's nice to see the big man back on the court doing actual basketball activities rather than just sitting on the sidelines.

Andrew Bynum (knee) is targeting a mid-February return.
This jives with a previous report that Bynum expected to be back right around the All-Star break, and he spent Wednesday's practice riding the exercise bike. As long as Bynum doesn't have any setbacks, which is always a possibility, it looks like we'll finally see him on the floor in February.

Andrew Bynum said on Monday that his knees are feeling "minimal" pain and is hoping to return "around the All-Star break."
Bynum said that his knees are "not hurting," and although he admitted to not having an exact timetable, the idea that he's targeting a return in about a month is an indication that he's made real progress in his rehab. He's yet to do straight line running on the court or go through contact drills, so we're not out of the woods just yet. Bynum is also reportedly in good shape despite not playing yet this season.
