Andrew Bynum was spotted doing on-court work on Monday, the same day he began running on a treadmill, and is tentatively targeting to return around the All-Star break.
Bynum was doing a variety of things like shooting around the basket and taking free throws, but the exercises were all of extremely low impact and the Sixers are probably just gauging where he is in his rehab. Nevertheless, this is the first sign of real progress for a team that is desperate to get its big man healthy. Bynum remains out indefinitely, but the fact that he finally has a timetable is an indication real progress has been made.

The Sixers will wait for Andrew Bynum (knees) to return before making any changes to the roster.
Bynum recently upped his rehab and is finally making progress. Tom Moore of phillyBlurbs.com speculates Bynum could return in mid-to-late February, although we won't believe anything until we see him out on the court. Bynum will also need plenty of practice time and conditioning before he's ready to make any real impact. The Sixers, like the rest of, must continue to play the waiting game.

Andrew Bynum (knees) expects to run on a treadmill and take standstill shots "in the next couple of days."
Bynum's "demeanor is good," but he remains out indefinitely at this point. Bynum is finally making progress with his health, but if and when he's cleared to ramp up basketball activities, he'll still need solid practice time and to get his conditioning in order. There is no timetable or targeted date for his return.

Andrew Bynum (knees) said that he's "feeling better every day," has resumed treadmill work and anticipates beginning on-court work soon.
"It's definitely moving in a positive direction," he said. The swelling is gone in both of Bynum's knees, and the cartilage is no longer bothering him. The right knee is a non-issue, while the left knee is feeling "much, much better." There remains no timeline for his return, and we really won't know more until he begins on-court basketball activities in order to see how his knees respond. When he does get on the court, Bynum will either be "100 percent fine," or his "knee will swell up" and give "signals that there is a problem."

Andrew Bynum (knees) is "optimistic" about his progress and chances of playing this season and currently has no meetings with doctors scheduled.
This isn't much of an update. Bynum has been optimistic about his playing status previously, and we still don't know exactly where Bynum is in his rehab or how long his timetable to return is. He's been doing treadmill work and "hopes to advance to running soon." The reality is Bynum still has a lot of work to do before he plays. "I will be back," Bynum said.

An update on the status of Andrew Bynum (knees) could come Monday when the Sixers return home, according to the team's PR staff.
GM Tony DiLeo said Wednesday that Bynum was past stage one of a six-step recovery process, but didn't elaborate. Bynum has been adamant about contributing this season, but we remain dubious as to how much. Check back early next week to see if the team gives up something substantial.

Sixers GM Tony DiLeo said "there really is no update" when asked about Andrew Bynum's (knees) progress.
DiLeo said that Bynum was "past the first of the six stages of progress toward recovery," but he didn't expound upon that and was very vague. Despite Bynum being adamant that he'd contribute this season, whether or not he'll suit up at all this year remains a giant question mark. There will "probably" be an update on Bynum next week, but we wouldn't hold our breath.

An MRI showed Andrew Bynum's knees are improving and he has been cleared to step up his rehab, but there is still no timetable on his return.
Sixers GM Tony DiLeo called it good news but admitted he doesn't know if Bynum can help the team this season. According to DiLeo, increased activity is part one of a six-step rehab process. The team will wait to see how his knee responds to the added stress before determining anything further. The Sixers big man did say he's "confident" he'll suit up this year, but it appears we've still got a ways to go before that happens.

Andrew Bynum's agent, personal orthopedist, Sixers team doctors and other personnel have a "large amount" of information "to exchange and discuss," a source tells Ken Berger of CBS Sports.
It's a pretty strange update on Bynum, but it's an update. We are expecting to learn more about Bynum's most recent MRI on Friday, and that's when we should have a clearer idea if and when we'll see the big man back on the basketball court. He hasn't played yet this season.

Updating a previous item, it "sounds like" an update on Andrew Bynum (knees) will not happen until Friday.
Bynum is scheduled to be evaluated by his personal orthopedist on Thursday, but the Sixers may wait until Friday to make an announcement regarding his progress. If you're still holding onto Bynum in any format, continue to hold until we know more.
